• The electric Mercedes-Benz Sprinter now has an 81.0-kWh battery choice. This lowers the range but still gives it enough power for regular deliveries.
  • The printer comes in a smaller size and has a smaller battery.
  • All versions of the Sprinter, whether they are gas or electric, offer better driver aid.

The Mercedes-Benz eSprinter, which runs on batteries, and the regular Sprinter are already getting updates for the 2025 model year, even though they just came out a few months ago. At the start, this full-size van only came in one version: the 170-wheelbase model with a 113.0-kWh battery. The printer, on the other hand, now has an 81.0-kWh battery. Your choice of the same high-roof big-box van or a new, smaller body style with a 144-inch wheelbase, a standard roof height that is 11.4 inches lower, and a total length that is about 40 inches less is what the 81.0-kWh power unit comes in. It’s also a lot cheaper to buy the basic model, which has a smaller battery.

The battery in the 2025 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter is new, cheaper, and smaller

Either battery powers the similar electric motor in the back, which can produce 134 hp or an extra 201 hp if desired. There are 295 lb-ft of power. The printer is too big for the EPA to give a range rating, but the current 113.0-kWh model is rated for 297 miles on the European WLTP cycle, which is about the same as 252 miles by EPA rules. The 81.0-kWh version gets 190 WLTP miles, which is about 161 miles on the EPA cycle, for the same body shell. The smaller body style gets 204 WLTP miles, which is 173 miles in the US. Mercedes says that even the smaller power source should be enough since most cargo cars are only used for daily deliveries that are less than 150 miles.

The standard Sprinter’s 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine lets you go on longer trips if you need to. The engine makes 168 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque in Low Output mode and 208 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque in High Output mode. The electric Sprinter only has rear-wheel drive, but the gasoline-powered version has an all-wheel drive system that can be added as an extra.

The regular Sprinter can be ordered as a Crew Van (with room for up to five people), a Passenger Van (with room for up to fifteen people), or a Cab Chassis. The printer, on the other hand, is only offered as a cargo van right now. New features will be added to all Sprinters in 2025. The blind-spot tracking system can let drivers know if there is a bike to their right when they are making a right turn. As soon as the van starts to move, the 360-degree video system scans the area in front of it to let the driver know if there are any people or bikes there. You can now get a heated steering wheel.

The eSprinter’s starting price has dropped by about $10,000 to $63,545. This is because its battery and body are smaller. The battery model with more power costs $75,855. For starters, the 2025 Sprinter with a gas engine costs $53,195 for the cargo van and $59,295 for the passenger van.
