• Prices for the Compass and Grand Cherokee are going down this year, and Jeep is also releasing the new Wagoneer S and Recon EV, which are electric cars.
  • Antonio Filosa, CEO of Jeep, says that for the gas-powered Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, Jeep branding will be more important than subbrand standing.
  • Filosa also announced the release of five items, some of which have new names and updated versions.

Antonio Filosa, CEO of Jeep, says the company plans to release five new models, make improvements to current models, and add new nameplates in 2025. 2025 will be a big year for the company because so many new types are being made. Still, it looks like Jeep’s new CEO will only be able to move forward. Prices on popular models are going down until the new electric vehicles (EVs) come out. The company is getting ready to show off its first EVs.

The CEO talks about the "Brand in Transition" as Jeep gets ready to release its first electric vehicles

Changes are made to Jeep, and prices go down

Prices have gone down. The Jeep Compass is now $2500 less expensive at $27,495 than it was at its 2024 MSRP. The Altitude, Red Edition, and High Altitude versions are no longer on the market, which makes the choices even smaller. The Jeep Grand Cherokee has also seen price drops. Some models now cost thousands less than they did at the beginning of the year. The base model Grand Cherokee Laredo costs $1500 less than the Limited trim, which costs $2325.

Filosa also said, “The brand is going through a change.” “We need to do something on market preparation and market share because this is not where this brand deserves to be.”

Filosa thinks that Jeep will send out its first two electric cars before the end of the year. The Wagoneer S, which is the best of the best, is first. It is set to start production in the second quarter of this year as a 2024 model and run for a short time until 2025 when it will be given a full run.

The Wagoneer S had an electric drivetrain, while the current Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer cars have engines that burn gasoline. Jeep’s early study shows that the Wagoneer S can make 600 horsepower and go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, making it the fastest Jeep ever. We don’t know what the production model will do, but the test was thought to be able to go 400 miles.

The release of the Wagoneer S will also mean a change for its gas-powered cousin in terms of branding and marketing. This is because Filosa wants to bring the Wagoneer name into Jeep.

“We’re changing the Wagoneer strategy, and we’re converging Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer into Jeep.” This means that when it comes out later this year, the Wagoneer will have Jeep logos instead of just the “WAGONEER” ones that are on gas-powered cars now.

Jeep plans to start making the Recon EV in the third quarter of this year and sell it before the end of the year, coming after the Wagoneer S on the list. The Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid served as a model for the Recon, an electric SUV with four wheels that can go off-road well. It’s easy to take the doors off. Do you understand this?

The new Stellantis STLA Large platform will be used to build the Wagoneer S and Recon. This platform can make cars with front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and electric, gas, or hybrid engines.

In addition, Filosa said that five more cars would be released in 2025 after the Wagoneer S and Recon. He only said that the launches would include both new models and different versions of models that already existed; he didn’t say anything else.

One car we expect to see in 2019 is the PHEV Gladiator, which was mentioned earlier. Filosa thinks it’s important to give clients as much “freedom of choice” as possible.
