• A brand-new trim level is added to the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning.
  • It will be called the Flash and will be in between the XLT and Lariat trims.
  • When it goes on sale sometime next year, the Flash will start at $72,090.

Today, Ford announced a new trim level for the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning. This means that the lineup is about to get more crowded. The new model will be called the Flash and will be in between the XLT and Lariat trims.

Ford is selling this one to Lightning buyers as a “tech-focused” choice. In practice, this means that the Flash will have a standard 15.5-inch touchscreen and an extended-range battery, which the EPA says will give it a range of 320 miles. An F-150 Lightning Platinum got 230 miles out of our 75-mph highway loop in our real-world tests.

For 2024, Blue Cruise 1.2 will be added to the Flash and higher models, and a heat pump will be added to make the Lightning more efficient in colder areas. Also, the Towing Technology package comes standard on the XLT and higher models. The updated Lightning does get the new, simpler Ford logo that was first seen on the updated F-150 last month.

Ford hasn’t released total prices for the new model year, but we do know that the Flash will be between the XLT and the Lariat and will start at $72,090 when it goes on sale with the rest of the range next year.
