There is no longer a stock hybrid engine for the Ford Maverick. Ford Authority says that Ford revealed on Wednesday that starting in 2024, the 2.0-liter EcoBoost will be the standard engine, and the hybrid will now cost $1500 more. Even though it was hard to get a base Maverick hybrid without paying at least $1500 more, it looks like a significant loss on paper. Ford didn’t expect so many people to want the small truck that gets at least 40 mpg, so making the hybrid an extra may help with the problem of not having enough. In reality, it also helps to get some of the extra markups that dealers have used and put them in the Blue Oval account. Ford says that the Maverick starts at $24,995 plus delivery fees. Only the type with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine will be sold. You will have to pay at least $26,495 for the 2.5-liter hybrid. For the 2023 model year, you can only buy Maverick pickups, which is too bad. Soon, you should be able to order a 2024 Maverick. If they do, you should move quickly because they have sold out quickly.
