• Honda has said that the sixth-generation Prelude will be available in the UK in early 2019.
  • This weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Prelude idea is shown for the first time in Europe.
  • Honda says the next model will be hybrid, so it may use its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. However, powertrain specifics are unknown.

Honda has stated that the small coupe will be coming back to the United States. However, we are still waiting for the company to confirm that the sixth-generation Prelude will be made in this country. The Prelude idea could go on sale in the UK as early as next year. However, it will be shown to the public for the first time in Europe later this week at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Honda Prelude 2026 will be sold in the UK

New pictures of the Prelude show that the low-slung coupe is finished in a beautiful scarlet color, which is different from the white finish on the original concept car. Aside from color changes, our eyes can’t tell the difference between anything else. This isn’t a surprise since the concept car looked so much like a real car when it was first shown.

Honda hasn’t said much about the Prelude Concept’s engine, but the company has said that the car is a hybrid. The production model is likely to have the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder fuel engine and hybrid system as the CR-V, Accord, and Civic Hybrid models. We were hoping for more power than the Accord’s 204 horsepower and the Civic Hybrid’s 200 horsepower. Still, Honda’s major project lead engineer, Tomoyuki Yamagami, let us down with what he said earlier.

Malaysian magazine CarsGuide interviewed Yamagami in November 2023. During the same conversation, he said that the next Prelude “isn’t going to be the sportiest, zippiest car that’s going to be thrown into the circuits.” He also told the magazine that the Prelude would have four seats, like the Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ. Unlike the other two cars, the Prelude is supposed to power only the front wheels.

“We think the customer’s practical needs are important,” Yamagami told Autocar not long ago. However, Honda has always tried to make driving fun. The pleasure of operating, or driving, is an important part of personal movement. That’s just how we are.” Now that everything is taken care of, please confirm sales in North America.
