Driving a Honda Civic has always been a pleasant experience for the driver. It’s a reliable daily driver, a hot hatchback ready for the track, a cheap commuter car, and a good investment. No, hold on. Get rid of the last one. The Civic is still a good deal, even though it’s not the cheapest Honda to buy anymore. That crown is now on the electric Prologue. With the holiday weekend comes holiday deals, and Honda has some great lease offers for you. For example, an all-electric 2024 Prologue EX with all-wheel drive (AWD) can be bought for $269 a month for 36 months, which comes to $325 before taxes. The first payment of $1,999 is due at the time of signing. One of the other rules about hiring is that you can only drive 10,000 miles a year. People who live in California or other CARB emissions states are the only ones who can sign rentals. The price will go up a little if you move. For the same car and down payment, the monthly contract rate is $329, or $385 when other costs are added in. The $1,000 reward for Honda loyalists for the Prologue could make the price go up even more. The monthly payment will go down by $30, which means the real cost will go down by $85. What makes this car different from one that is half as big and costs half as much? Still, a standard Civic LX costs $239 a month. The $3,399 payment was signed first, though. In this case, the real cost is $333. By some Common Core estimates, it will cost you $8 less to lease the Prologue than a $24,250 Civic. The Prologue has an MSRP of $48,795. You won’t save a lot of money, but you’ll get a free big boba drink every month (with extra toppings!). You do not have to deal with gas prices going up and down. Then, how does the price of leasing an electric SUV compare to the price of hiring a cheap gas car? Oh, of course, stacking coupons! There are a number of incentive deals on the Prologue that save $13,500. There is a $1,000 discount for loyal or conquest buyers, $5,000 in Captive Lease Cash (lease rebates), and a $7,500 tax credit for electric cars. Lessees who own a car from a certain group of competitors that was made in 2014 or later can get the conquering reward. What is this? It’s just a “Hey, thanks for getting a new car from us instead of them” message. You can save even more on your lease with the $750 Labor Day Dealer Cash on 2024 Prologue models. In the small print, it says that it is a manufacturer-to-dealer bonus that has yet to be made public. Like coupons printed with invisible ink, dealers don’t have to respect them or even notice that they are there. Still, ask. Just ask because the answer to a question that has never been asked is always no.
