Infiniti says that a new full-size QX80 SUV will come out in 2024. The QX65 is going to be a brand-new mid-size crossover car. The Vision QXe design also hints at the possibility of an electric SUV. Infiniti has been quiet lately, but the Japanese luxury car company has been busy making ideas and new cars ready to sell. Before the Tokyo Motor Show, Infiniti announced plans for two new SUVs running on gas and two electric cars coming out in the future. The idea-based QX65 from Infiniti will get a new name. Lexus and Genesis make two-row luxury SUVs with which the QX65 is meant to compete. It is a mid-size crossover with a sloped “coupe” back end. Some of its parts will likely come from the three-row mid-size luxury QX60 SUV. The full-size QX80 has been updated to compete with high-end fleet cars like the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. It now has three rows of seats. The QX80 should look like the QX Monograph concept car, which appeared at the 2023 Monterey Car Week. Both cars have a vertical head resembling a waterfall and a strong body with slab sides. Infiniti says that all three rows will be comfortable and have the latest technology, but the materials used inside must be better, too. Even though the new QX80 doesn’t have electric power yet, the 5.6-liter V-8 engine will be swapped out for something smaller, more powerful, and better on gas mileage, a twin-turbo V-6. Along with the QXe concept and the Qe electric sedan, the Infiniti preview image for these four new cars also hints at an electric SUV. We will know about that model when it goes into production, likely after these two new gas-powered cars.
