• The next mid-size SUV looks like it will be the Toyota Crown, whose tailgate was shown in a sneak shot.
  • There is a letter “C” where the model name should be, which supports our theory that it is a Crown. There is also a blend badge on its rear end.
  • The mid-size car that has yet to be named could have been a Toyota Crown, which the company just announced.

In Japan, the Toyota Crown brand has existed since 1955 and is well known there. The Toyota Crown was sold in the US from 1958 to 1972 but has only recently made a comeback. The Crown was designed to be different from other sedans. Toyota shared a sneak peek of the Crown SUV it plans to bring to North America to add to the Crown family.

The newest image makes it look like the Toyota Crown SUV will be coming to the US

Crown SUV, big

It says next to Toyota’s only picture, “With All-Wheel Drive, this hybrid electric mid-size SUV goes above and beyond what’s expected.” The automaker’s marketing team used a lot of exaggeration in that phrase, but that’s not the point. We don’t know anyone who doesn’t expect a mid-size SUV not to have all-wheel drive. What’s essential is that Toyota has made it clear that the unnamed SUV will have all-wheel drive, a hybrid engine, and mid-size dimensions.

At first glance, Toyota’s picture doesn’t spark much creativity. The close-up picture of a hatchback with all-wheel drive and hybrid logos could be from more than one Toyota car. Looking closely, you can see that the model number starts with a “C” and is located above the back license plate holder. Even though the Corolla Cross is also an SUV whose name begins with “C,” we’re sure it’s a brand-new Crown. We can also guess when it will happen.

How the King SUV was made?

Toyota released several new Crown models worldwide over a year ago. These versions have a more traditional look than the high-riding sedan now available in the United States. The yellow idea, which the company calls a wagon, is about the same size as a mid-size SUV.

There are short overhangs on this Crown, the top and front frames are blacked out, the wheels are enormous, and the front lighting looks like it came from the Ferrari Purosangue. If we are not wrong, the teaser’s tailgate looks much like the concept’s. Both have narrow taillights and similar creases around the bumper and license plate holder. Now, we need to wait for Toyota to open the hood.
