We’ve been watching the comeback of old car styles for decades. The Plymouth Prowler, which was based on hot rods, and Lamborghini’s Countach show that people are always trying to bring old ideas up to date. Now, that style has made its way to Japanese cars since the 1990s. The R35 Nissan GT-R is based on the R34 Skyline, and it looks great. Romeo Miah, who is the design head of Artisan Vehicle Design, wrote this R34.5. The car will be made by Artisan Vehicle Design and German Porsche restaurant Rensla Automotive Design and Artisan Vehicle Design. When asked, Rensla stated the work would be done together. Miah says he had the idea in 2019 and that part prototyping will start in the next few weeks. What do you want to do? A salute to the R34, made entirely of carbon fiber and built on the chassis of the R35’s predecessor. “What if there was a modern-day version and a true spiritual successor of the Skyline GT-Rs of the past?” Miah looks on the website for his business. Of course, the inside of the car has also been changed. Artisan says that important touch points like the seats, steering wheel, shifter, and so on will be covered in Alcantara with carbon fiber. This heavy use of composites is expected to cut weight by 440 to 660 pounds while also making the vehicle work better. Miah says that Artisan is working with a UK GT-R expert to improve the car’s aerodynamics, handling, and brakes. They are also making a new engine and transmission. With the Ultimate package, these will be made better for use on tracks. Miah says that the prototype should be finished and tested by spring 2024, which is before the client cars are sent out. He thinks the price of the car will be around $467,000. The car was known for performing well for the price. But it will cost less than half of the Italdesign GT-R50, which is about $1.2 million. That means it should be easy to sell the 36 that will be made, especially if the R34 price keeps going up.
