At the Japan Mobility Show, which is currently going on, Nissan is showing off many new car ideas that could be used in exceptionally far-off futures. The first idea, the “Hyper Tourer,” might make minivans cool again. But we’re here to discuss a different idea called the “Hyper Punk,” which might be vying for the Cybertruck’s angular design attention.

Nissan calls the Hyper Punk a “next-generation crossover” that “inspires self-expression in all worlds.” The ads sound like a mix of Nissan Rogue and Scion ads. With Hyper Punk’s “V2X” system, customers can charge their gadgets. This makes the car a considerable power bank on wheels. The inside of the origami-style cockpit can also be used as an art gallery. The Hyper Punk has cameras on the outside that record what’s happening around the car. When AI is added to the pictures, they are turned into manga-style art or graffiti art if the customer wants. Three images are shown on three screens around the car. Nissan even made the comic character Yuki.

The Nissan Hyper Punk SUV Concept's low-poly design pushes cyberpunk to its limits

Nissan says that the Hyper Punk’s interior is made to be a “mobile creative studio” with many features that make it easy for artists to work. It’s always connected to the internet and can connect to various artistic tools, such as iPads and cameras. It also has biosensors in the headrests that work with AI to determine how the driver feels and change the music and lights to match. After all, why not?

The Hyper Punk’s outside is covered with silver paint that changes colors based on the light hitting it. This makes the surface look more angular. The Hyper Punk has substantial 23-inch wheels with LED triangle patterns that look like they belong in a cyborg world. If you want to play Hyper Punk, you must wait because it’s still a dream. In the viral video game Fortnite, it will become a playable car on October 25. That’s good news; you should soon be able to “drive” it. If you’re not into games, the most important thing to get from Hyper Punk is a look at what Nissan wants car buyers to do after we’ve all lived in a Blade Runner prequel.
