• At the German racing Nürburgring, what looks like the 2025 Toyota GRMN Supra has been seen being tested.
  • Gazoo Racing (GR) vehicles are the only ones with camouflage on the Supra prototype. It has better brakes and better handling than regular cars.
  • There have been rumors about a track-focused GRMN Supra since 2020. New rumors say it will use the BMW M4’s 473-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six engine.

Toyota is getting ready to release a new Supra model that is made to go as fast as possible around the world’s best tracks. Our spy photographer recently saw a prototype race across Germany’s famous Nürburgring Nordschleife. The prototype was only partly hidden. We think this is the Toyota GRMN Supra from 2025.

GRMN?

Toyota’s Gazoo Racing (GR) division is probably known to most Supra fans, but GRMN might not be. It stands for “Gazoo Racing tuned by the Meister of the Nürburgring.” The second name was given to Toyota’s late chief test driver, Hiromu Naruse.

Seeing a Supra being tested at the ‘Ring doesn’t mean it’s a GRMN model, but rumors of one going back to 2020 have us on the watch for one. Another correct prediction is that the Supra will get a manual transmission for the 2023 model year. This means that an A90-generation version designed for the track is the next step that makes the most sense.

Hardware from GRMN Supra

The test mule for the Supra has better canards and a front lip. There is an extensive rear tail out back. A closer look shows that the prototype’s spoiler resembles the 2024 Supra 45th Anniversary Edition’s spoiler but has lighter mounting frames and different tips.

The car at the Nürburgring also has improved brakes and what looks like a lower ride height, which are clear signs that it is not a regular Supra. The GRMN model may have a softer and firmer suspension, making the coupe even better to drive.

The brake calipers on the prototype look more extensive than those on a regular GR Supra, and the wheels look like they have been cross-drilled. The spy pictures also show that the wheels will be lighter and have Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with excellent grip.

GRMN Supra+M4 Engine

Most people are still determining what will power the GRMN Supra. We know it will be made by BMW, just like the rest of the line. Also, it will come from one of BMW’s M models, most likely the 473-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six in the M3 or M4.

The 453-hp BMW M2 engine will probably be used in the Toyota, but it will be tuned down. What is one thing that all of the engines have in common? A manual transmission is a choice that you can get with them. These cars don’t have the same 543-hp engine as the GRMN Supra, and we don’t think it will be used in those cars. But time will tell in the end.
