• The 2025 Volkswagen Jetta comes with a new standard 8.0-inch touchscreen and a small facelift that makes it look more stylish.
  • The GLI still has a six-speed manual gearbox option, and the powertrains are the same.
  • The price goes up to $23,220, and sales will begin later in the year.

Volkswagen’s sales are mostly based on how well its growing SUV range does, but the Jetta sedan still sells very well. In the first three months of 2024, the Jetta was the third most popular model from the brand. Sales were up 185% year over year. To keep things going, Volkswagen is giving the Jetta and the sporty Jetta GLI a new look, more standard features, and a lower starting price for 2025.

Looks better

In 2025, a smaller top grille and thinner headlights will give the Jetta a more streamlined look. If you choose the Sport, SEL, or GLI, the hood gets an LED light bar. Both the front and back ends have been changed, and a full-width light joins the new taillights. The SEL and GLI now have 18-inch wheels, while the SE has new 17-inch wheels. Now, the SE and GLI come in two more colors: Monterey Blue Pearl and Monument Grey. They also have new black wheelsets.

The Jetta’s updated dashboard now has three slats in front of the passenger that fit in with the air vent. The S, Sport, and SEL used to come with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, but now they have an 8.0-inch moving display to the left of the range. All Jettas now come with automatic dual-zone climate control, which uses a capacitive touch screen instead of dials and buttons. The SE, SEL, and GLI models all have a 15-watt wireless charging pad that cools your phone while you use it.

VW has added SiriusXM radio, wireless charging, voice control, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The SE also has better basic features. It also has new Seawall Blue/Storm Grey Microcloud leatherette seats with holes in them. The Sport version, on the other hand, now has the black Molekular fabric seats that are on the GLI 40th Edition. The fast GLI still has seats made of Vienna leather with red contrast stitching, but the SEL has seats made of perforated Vienna leather and a new color scheme that is Brown/Titan Black.

It has the same power as four cylinders

In 2025, the Jetta’s powertrains will stay the same. The 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four engine’s 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque are sent to the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The six-speed manual gearbox that was used in the S and Sport models is no longer available.

The Jetta GLI’s 2.0-liter inline-four turbocharged engine still makes 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of power. The GLI with front-wheel drive still comes with both a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic engine. The GLI still has speed upgrades like bigger brakes, a limited-slip differential, dampers that can be adjusted, and a sportier exhaust.

The IQ comes standard on all Jettas from the company, even the GLI. Most drive systems have a radar in the back, a camera in front, and several ultrasonic devices. Driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise control, blind spot tracking, automated emergency braking, and lane-keep assist are part of the package. There is also Emergency Assist, which checks to see if the driver is paying attention, can stop the car, and turns on the hazards if it thinks the driver is losing control.

Volkswagen has said that the Jetta S will start at $23,220, but they have yet to say what the full price range is. For a Jetta with a manual gearbox, that is more than the base price of $22,660 for the 2024 model. In fact, the least expensive automatic 2025 Jetta S costs $240 less than the least expensive automatic 2024 Jetta S. Dealers should be able to get the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta in stock by the end of the third quarter of this year.
