Ringbrothers make some really great cars. From 1948 Chevy trucks with F1 designs to 1,200-horsepower Chevy K5 Blazers, the work is always understood and done to a very high level. The most current work of art by the Ringbrothers was shown at the 2023 SEMA show. It is a 1965 Ford Mustang convertible that, despite looking pretty normal, is anything but normal.

The body looks like it hasn’t been touched, but it was quietly stretched by an inch on each side to make the car look better. It would be easier to tell once you put a regular Mustang next to it. The proportions are that good. The builder changed the shape of the grille so that it was set in more sharply, and they also made the taillights a bit wider to cover the extra width. All of this great design work is quiet and doesn’t get in the way.

The door handles and trim pieces were precisely milled, and all of the metal parts on the outside were finished with Cerakote, which is a standard Ringbrothers touch. All of the parts work together to make an amazing design slam smash on the level of Singer. The inside was completely fixed up to match the outside, and Dakota Digital instruments were added along with small details that pay tribute to the Mustang’s original beauty.

A Roadster Shop unibody frame with independent rear suspension and Penske dampers is what it’s all built on. The gear has been changed to be flexible and fun, even though it sounds serious. The engine and transmission are the same as the ones in the Ford Performance stock Coyote V8. There are ten speeds on the transmission. The engine is still in great shape and makes 460 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, which is not common for Ringbrothers engines. The engine room looks even better with the addition of beautiful valves and intake manifold covers that were made by hand.

That’s the idea, even though it looks like it’s been changed only a little. Achieving such a big improvement on one of the most beautiful car designs ever is no easy task, but the Ringbrothers were able to do it.
