Toyota has started to drop hints that a new Camry model will be coming out soon. Last month, it hinted at the start of a new day, and that’s exactly what it is: a picture of what looks like the front end of a car. There was no other information given about the car, but it was clear that a new Camry was on the way because Toyota’s other models that aren’t SUVs had just been updated and released. Toyota has shared a new teaser for us to think about and has made it clear that this new car is the Camry, the company’s mainstay midsize four-door sedan. The most current teaser picture shows the “C” at the beginning of the word “CAMRY” on the trunk lid and a taillight part of the new Camry. Here’s a more in-depth explanation: The Toyota Camry 2025 will be the first car with both all-wheel drive and hybrid power, as shown by the “AWD HEV” logo. At the moment, the Camry’s AWD only works with its basic gas four-cylinder engine. The new Camry, like its rival, the Honda Accord, will be mostly a hybrid car this time, even though hybrids only make up about 5% of sedan sales right now. The standard 2.5-liter I-4 Camry hybridized powertrain, which makes 208 horsepower, is likely to stay in the car. A more powerful hybrid car might have a hybrid turbo 2.4-liter I-4 engine paired with one or more electric motors (like the Crown). The base gas engine is likely to be the most expensive model. Since this is Toyota, expect an all-electric car for a while. Toyota still thinks that gasoline and hybrid cars will be popular for a long time. Toyota will start selling electric cars by the end of the decade, but they won’t be able to replace well-known names right away. This year’s Camry has the most expressive styling ever, but Toyota may not even have the craziest styling yet. The gallery below shows our design sketch of what the future Camry might look like: Unfortunately, playing around with Photoshop doesn’t reveal any more details about the obscure picture. The only things that stand out are the rather large Toyota logo on the nose and the new, easy-to-see shape of the daytime running lights, which makes us think that this new Camry might be a bit sportier (and influenced by the unique Prius light signature). Based on how the current generation has slowly added more of its NASCAR heritage to its design and trim levels, making the Camry sportier is the next natural step. The Crown sedan and the sporty Prius update show that Toyota’s latest design goals are to make cars that look sporty. Will the TRD, which is the sportiest Camry on the market right now, come back? It has yet to be determined if the new hybrid system we talked about earlier will be the most powerful engine choice. No matter what setup you choose, it turns into the brand-new GR Camry performance model. Toyota would be smart to wait until the next generation and design to drop the most powerful and sporty Camry. This is definitely something to be happy about. That’s all you need to know about when this new Camry will be available: On November 14 at 10 p.m. ET, the new Camry will be shown off.
