Our Opinion - 2024 Lincoln Navigator Review

The 2024 Navigator is big and luxurious, just like all the other types. It has a 30-way massaging seat that is heated and cooled, and it also has Lincoln’s BlueCruise 1.0 hands-free highway driving aid system. There is a lot of room for people in the Lincoln Navigator, even in the third row, which can fit up to eight people thanks to its small, independent back suspension. The Ford Expedition and the Navigator both use the same frame, but the Navigator is much fancier inside, with themes like “Central Park” and “Invitation.” There are both short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase Navigator models. The long-wheelbase model has a lot of cargo space even when the third row is filled. There is a 440-hp twin-turbocharged V-6 motor in both models. This engine is similar to the one in the Ford Raptor. The Navigator can reach 60 mph in 5.3 seconds thanks to its turbocharged six-cylinder engine and 10-speed automatic gearbox. It can also pull up to 8,700 pounds. The Navigator doesn’t have a frame as well-tuned as the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and the Cadillac Escalade, but it’s still a great comfort vehicle for long trips.

There are a few big changes in the 2024 Navigator, but only a few. The old rear-wheel drive system has been replaced on all Navigators with full-time four-wheel drive. With the fancier name “Premiere,” the regular model now has the BlueCruise 1.0 hands-free driving help system. You can try it for free for three months. Blue Cruise contracts now last four years instead of two. When we talk about blue, Lincoln’s Flight Blue Metallic color has taken the place of Ocean Blue after a year.

Pros

  • Shows confidence both inside and outside of themselves.
  • An engine that works well and smoothly
  • Suddenly in charge of the car.

Cons

  • It’s possible to make the ride better.
  • The BlueCruise might be too sensitive.
  • Not as much room for cargo as the Escalade.

The 2024 Navigator only needs one engine and transmission to have 440 horsepower. The 10-speed automatic shifts gears quickly enough to keep people asleep, and we loved how agile and fast the Navigator really was. This car went from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.3 seconds on our test track. For some reason, though, the Navi can only go fast in straight lines. It’s not fun to drive because of its sheer size, soft handling, and steering that doesn’t feel right. The Navigator rides well for a big luxury SUV, but the Mercedes-Benz GLS-class and BMW X7 are better for a more high-end and exciting driving experience. Other big body-on-frame American cars have more power. The V-series Cadillac Escalade can make up to 682 horsepower, and the Jeep Grand Wagoneer can make 510 horsepower. When the extra 22-inch wheels were added, the Navigator got antsy and would sometimes crash and bounce back, which was the worst of all possible situations.

Lincoln also gives the Navigator its Co-Pilot360 package of driver-assistance technology as a standard feature. Some of these technologies are automatic emergency braking, watching for blind spots, and detecting pedestrians. Visit the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) webpages to learn more about the Navigator’s crash test scores. Some important safety factors are:

  • Blind-spot recognition and back cross-traffic alert are both included as standard features in this product.
  • Most automatic emergency brakes can tell who is on the road.
  • Cruise control that adapts to semi-autonomous mode.

The Navigator’s cabin is very roomy and high-class. Some choices, like front seats that massage you and wood trim with open pores, are only available on higher trim levels. However, even the base Navigator has a lot to offer. The third row of seats in the Navigator is a great example of this type of seating. The third row of seats in the Navigator has 1.1 inches more headroom than the GLS class, but the seats in its competitors are much less roomy. Lincoln’s high-end SUV, the Navigator, has front seats that can be massaged in 30 different ways. The seats are very flexible and look almost like sculptures. You can even change the height of the hip supports on the left and right separately. It can be hard to park or drive through traffic with the Navigator because it’s so big, but it’s very helpful when getting ready for a trip. If all three rows are used, short-wheelbase cars have little room for cargo. But if the third row is folded down, there is plenty of room. Long-wheelbase L types have a lot of space for cargo, even when the third row is used.

The Navigator has a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine and a 10-speed automatic gearbox to get better gas mileage. The EPA says that in rear-wheel drive mode, it gets 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, even though the engine has a small volume.

The Navigator has a beautiful 13.2-inch screen and all of the USB ports you could want. The infotainment system’s clean, easy-to-read pictures will please Lincoln’s nearsighted customers and the big screen on top of the Navigator looks like a diamond. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both work wirelessly and come as standard. The machine can get software changes over the air thanks to a built-in 5G Wi-Fi hotspot. The standard Revel sound system has 14 speakers, but the Luxury package comes with a Revel Ultima 3D stereo with 28 speakers.

Choose between an extended L body style or a standard short-wheelbase car. Either way, the Reserve trim is what you should get. There are now nice luxury options on the Reserve model, such as power-adjustable steering wheels, a head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, and a number of driver-assistance technologies. We suggest the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow option for customers who want to make the most of the Navigator’s 8700-pound towing capability. For people who need it, all-wheel drive is offered.
