Starting with the 2024 model year, the base Corsair trim will be called Premiere. The only other change to Lincoln’s smallest SUV is that the BlueCruise hands-free driving choice now comes with a free four-year subscription to the service instead of just two years like it did in earlier model years.

The base engine for the Corsair is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 250 horsepower. It comes in both the Standard and Reserve classes. All-wheel drive is offered for an extra fee, but the base model comes with front-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel-drive Corsair with the turbo four got to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds in our tests. But important rivals like the Porsche Macan and Q5 are faster and more fun to drive. The plug-in hybrid car has an electric motor, a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and all-wheel drive. It also has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The PHEV type went from 0 to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds on our test track, but we didn’t like how loud the engine was.

There are a lot of driver-assistance technologies built into all models, but if you want to use the more advanced ones, like Lincoln’s BlueCruise hands-free driving system, you have to pay extra for the Co-Pilot360 2.1 Drive system. The beautiful inside of the 2024 Corsair makes me think of Lincoln’s old SUVs, like the Navigator, Nautilus, and Aviator. It can be used for many things and is covered in high-quality leather. There are options for a head-up display, power-adjustable seats with 24 positions, adjustable ambient lighting, and an app that lets users open, lock, and start the car with their smartphone, but they would all make the final price much higher. You can choose between two different styles for the inside. The first one, Smoked Truffle, gives the Corsair’s interior a classic look with bright metal accents and a choice of warm-toned accents and seating. Eternal Red, the second choice, has a deep red leather color. The Corsair has a large storage area. We were able to fit eight carry-on bags behind the back seats, which was one more than the X3. There is room for 21 cases when the back seats are dropped.

The EPA says that the car with front-wheel drive and the turbo four gets 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. When you choose all-wheel drive, you lose one mpg in the city. We tried an all-wheel-drive car that got 30 mpg on our highway fuel economy route at 75 mph. The EPA says that the plug-in hybrid model gets 34 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. We have yet to have a chance to test it. It can go as far as 28 miles on power alone.

A digital gauge panel with 12 inches of screens and a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Lincoln’s Sync 4 entertainment system come as standard. The mini-joysticks on the steering wheel are helpful because they keep the driver from having to reach for the screen too often. The interface is also easy to use. All of them have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but the base Standard trim doesn’t have navigation in the dash. There are 14 speakers in the Revel system instead of 10 speakers in the Corsair when you choose the Reserve model. It also comes with SiriusXM satellite radio with real-time traffic and weather reports.

The Reserve trim is the best for it. Since Lincoln raised the price, it added 19-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, fog lights, a 14-speaker Revel stereo system, in-dash navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, a power-adjustable steering column, real wood interior trim, and heated front seats with Bridge of Weir leather upholstery that can be adjusted in 10 ways and saved by the driver. After that, we’d be careful what we did next because Corsair’s choice packages are very expensive.
