2022 Lexus RX

The 2022 Lexus RX has only two notable changes. The first one is the standardization of the rear view monitoring system, which is also equipped with a rear cross-traffic alert. This same wireless charging pad is an additional feature available on higher-end models.

The 2020-21 Lexus RX is available in two and three-row versions. The hybrid option is also available if you prefer.

It’s possible to get the Lexus RX in one of 2 compact sedans: the Base or the F Sport. With the same 3.5-liter V6 as that of the F Sport, the Base trim threshold generates 320 horsepower as well as 267 lb-ft of engine power. An automatic transmission is paired with this engine. All-wheel drive is an option on both trim levels, but the front-wheel-drive is standard.

When it comes to standard equipment, the base model has a lot to offer. It has LED headlights and 18-inch wheels on the front fascia. You’ll find a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a keyless ignition system with a push-button start in the interior. Support for Amazon echo, Android, and Apple Car is all included as standard functionality.

Additionally, the Lexus Security System + 2.0 is included in the base model. As a result, the RX is equipped with a variety of driver aids, including forwarding collision warnings and automatic emergency braking. Blind spot monitoring to rear oncoming cars alert is now standard on all new vehicles. As an added bonus, there’s also an adaptive cruise control system.

There are a plethora of choices for the Base as well. A 12.3-inch touchscreen navigation system, power-folding rear seats, heated and cooled front chairs, a towing package for all-wheel drive designs, and a faces display are all available options.

In addition to the standard front bumper, badges, and rear bumper, the F Sport adds unique styling. Additionally, it has 20-inch wheels, an F Athletics gear knob, F Sport rubber bushings on the front and back, and aluminium interior trim. In addition to a hot steering column, adaptive suspension as well as warmed and vented front sport seats, the entirely voluntary handling package adds additional features.

In spite of the F Sport package, the 2020-21 Lexus RX isn’t exactly tuned for spirited driving. On the highway, it’s capable of accelerating and passing other vehicles, but you’ll likely want to add AWD for better traction. The F Sport package’s adaptive suspension helps reduce body roll, but the RX’s handling is still a problem. Both the transmission and the brakes perform admirably under stress and in daily driving.

Lexus excels at providing exceptional levels of comfort. In addition to the RX’s silent, well-insulated cabin, and comfortable seats, it also has plenty of storage space. Many of the cabin’s buttons are large and easily located. This same entirely voluntary third row can be a tad cramped for taller passengers, but the front and second rows are more than adequate.

An overhaul of the in-car entertainment system is urgently needed. This same touchpad controller is a real pain in the ass, and the driver has to take their eyes off the road to use it effectively.

The competition’s fuel economy is a tad better. In terms of combined fuel economy, the 350 as well as 450h both manage 31 mpg, which isn’t terrible but also not great. This same 350L, of class, gets less, with a city mpg of 19 and a highway mpg of 26 on the FWD models, respectively.

Compared to some of its high-end rivals, this same 2020 – 21 Lamborghini RX is more affordable. While some aspects of the RX’s driving dynamics could stand to be improved, it still manages to deliver a respectable driving experience. At this point, it’s clear that Lexus is working hard to catch up with its rivals.
