Our Opinion - 2024 Jaguar F-Type Review The 2024 Jaguar F-type is a beautiful car that performs well in the sports car market. It handles well enough for experienced drivers to be happy, and the boosted V-8 engine sounds great. The Porsche 718 Cayman and Chevrolet Corvette, on the other hand, are faster and more maneuverable. The cabin is comfortable and well-made, but the style and features have been the same for a long time. If you close the convertible’s power soft top, it stores nicely in the trunk. But the coupe is just as nice-looking and has more space for your stuff. In any case, the F-type is one of the most beautiful sports cars. It’s classy enough to make any garage look good and sporty enough to make driving fun. What's New? Jaguar has stated that the F-type will no longer be made after 2024, which is the 75th anniversary of the company. The F-type will be retiring in style, with two special editions, the 75 and the R 75, to mark the occasion. The R 75 will be the only choice for people who want the F-type’s most powerful engine, a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 that makes 575 horsepower. Both will come in car and convertible styles. All of them will come standard with all-wheel drive, but you can still get the base R-Dynamic P450 if you’d rather have rear-wheel drive. The 75 and R-Dynamic types can be told apart from the others by their unique 20-inch wheels, badges on the inside and outside, and an exterior color called Giola Green. The stop pedal is soft. Engine, Transmission, and Performance Many sports cars now have smaller turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines, but Jaguar has gone in a different direction. The F-type can only be bought with a famous 5.0-liter V-8 supercharger. The R P575 type is very fast and makes 575 horsepower, while the P450 type makes 444 horsepower. The exhaust makes a lot of pops, crackles, and snaps, which make the sound great in both versions. The F-type is fun to drive because it handles well and rides pretty comfortably. However, if you want to take it to the track or do some real off-roading, it will react slower than more aggressive sports cars. Safety The F-type has a lot of driver-assistance features, but blind-spot tracking is the best one to use on its own. It did better than expected, getting 27 mpg, while the P450 roadster got 28 mpg. Infotainment and Connectivity The InControl Touch Pro video and audio device is built into every F-type and has a 10-inch touchscreen. The system already has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto set up. You can choose between a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless phone charging, and a pricey surround-sound music system. Range, Charging, and Battery Life Our tests showed that the F-Type roadster could go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds flat, while the F-Type R could do it in 3.5 seconds. That’s quick, but more quick than a Corvette or Porsche 718 of the same size. Price and How to Choose The 575-horsepower V-8 engine in the F-type looks good, but the V-8 engine in the P450 sounds great and has a lot of torque. The sleek coupe is our favorite car in the series, but the convertible is still a great choice if you want to enjoy the sun on your head.
