2025 Toyota Camry Overview

What’s new:

  • The new Camry will only run EVs by 2025.
  • Updated the inside and added a new look to the outside.
  • As standard, tools like wireless smartphone integration and driving assistance are available.
  • The ninth generation of the Camry starts with the 2025 model.

Toyota would like to talk to the person who said the sedan was dead because the 2025 Camry completely redesigned the midsize sedan. There are updates to the outside and inside looks, a range of all-hybrid drivetrains, and a lot of new technology features, such as a hands-free driving system for low speeds and an optional 12.3-inch touchscreen in the middle.

If Toyota stops making the Camry Hybrid, at least as a car name, it might not be very clear in 2025. Toyota now makes a hybrid version of the Camry, though, so it’s not necessary to be special anymore. Toyota’s newest hybrid powertrain is tied to a four-cylinder engine in the Camry. With front-wheel drive, the mix makes 225 horsepower, which is 17 more than the previous generation Camry Hybrid and 22 more than the previous generation four-cylinder that wasn’t a hybrid. Also, you can now order the Camry with an available all-wheel-drive system that adds an extra electric motor to the back and raises the output to 232 horsepower. A V6 engine, on the other hand, is no longer offered because the powertrain has changed for 2025.

It has been the Honda Accord that competes with the Toyota Camry for a long time. The Accord was redesigned for the 2023 model year, adding a more luxurious cabin and more refined styling. The Kia K5 and the Hyundai Sonata are the Camry’s main rivals. For the 2024 model year, both of these cars got major updates.

Pros

  • Fuel that works very well.
  • The decor is big and calm.
  • Simple to drive and use.
  • Move slowly over the hiccups.

Cons

  • When the engine speeds up quickly, it makes a loud sound.
  • There is little comfort in the front seat.

How do you drive a Camry? We tried the Camry XSE with front-wheel drive. It’s easy and smooth to speed up when you need to, and there’s plenty of power to get you going when you need it. Our test Camry went from 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds on the Invoice Pricing test track. This is faster than the hybrid Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata models. The brakes work well and smoothly.

We are impressed by how well the Camry handles and steers. Because the Camry we tried had a sport-tuned suspension system, the car should still be stable when you turn it.

How does the Camry make you feel? The front seats are a little too hard for our tastes. But for long trips, they’re great for supporting your back, and once you get used to them, they’re usually pretty comfy. The temperature control system has a great auto setting, and the fan speed is very strong. It also works very well.

The new Camry from Toyota is the most comfortable car ever. It handles bumps and dips well and doesn’t feel floaty or separated from the road. The Camry’s cabin is nice and quiet, even at high speeds. When you step on the gas, the engine makes a rough, unpleasant noise that is the only major disturbance to the peace.

How is the state of the inside? The Camry’s interior has changed a lot in the most recent model. Under the big touchscreen are a number of easy tactile controls and knobs for the climate control in the car. The buttons on the driving wheel are hard to understand at first, but they make sense in the end.

Camry drivers tend to stand too tall compared to those who drive other middle-sized cars. This gives you a better view of what’s behind and above the hood, making the ride more enjoyable. There is plenty of room for people in both rows of seats, and the flat roof ensures that everyone has enough space.

What’s wrong with the tech? Most versions of the Camry come with a big 12.3-inch touchscreen and wireless connection so that Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can be used on smartphones. This product is one of the best in its field when it comes to integrating devices. It also comes with a wireless charging stand that actually charges your phone and not just heat it. The available nine-speaker JBL sound system sounds better than some new Toyota models but could be better than the Bose systems offered by some competitors.

The features that help with driving are simply great. The Camry is almost perfect, and it has the newest safety equipment from Toyota. Now, the technology can tell when a car changes lanes and adjust its speed to match. With the extra Traffic Jam Assist feature, you can slow down to up to 25 mph when the conditions allow it.

What’s going on with storage? The Camry’s trunk is only 15.1 cubic feet, which is smaller than the Sonata and Accord’s, but it’s still big enough to fit a few large suitcases or a large food bag. The Camry has great room for small items. You can put your phone in a number of places. For example, big water bottles can fit in the door pockets, and keys can be kept in the bin next to the wireless charging station.

Hidden behind flaps that are easy to see if you need to place car seats for little kids, the LATCH anchors are close to the surface and not in the way. Also, the back bench is wide enough and has enough space for more than one seat. Just keep an eye on your head as you go in.

How much fuel does it use? Toyota says that, based on the model and options, a Camry can get between 44 and 51 mpg on a mix of city and highway miles. Because of this, the Camry is one of the most fuel-efficient cars, and it isn’t electric or a plug-in hybrid. Our front-wheel-drive XSE test car got 45.9 mpg on our normal test route, which was a bit more than Toyota’s estimate of 45 mpg and a little less than the average for a hybrid Accord.

Is the Camry a reasonably priced car? If you want a hybrid car, Toyota has made the Camry available in several different trim levels. Honda usually only sells the hybrid Accord in its most expensive model levels, but this is different here. The price and qualities are a good deal all around. Toyota’s warranty could be better, but it does include free maintenance for two years after 25,000 miles and roadside help for two years.

Even though driving a Camry might not immediately make you think of fun things to do, it works fine on winding roads and can now pass on the highway. The new Camry looks more confident than the old one in terms of appearance. Toyota is now letting the Camry show its unique personality, which it never really had before.

The mid-range XLE type makes sense for the vast majority of clients. It has more features, like heated front seats and leather upholstery, and a bigger 12.3-inch tablet to make things easier. Some buyers will like the fast SE with its sportier look and performance-tuned suspension, but most people will likely choose the XLE because it is more comfortable and has more major changes.

Types of Toyota Camry

In 2025, the Toyota Camry will be available in four trim levels: LE, SE, XSE, and XLE. All of them will have a hybrid engine that can make 225 or 232 horsepower and all-wheel drive as standard. Read on to see a list of the most important features of each style.
