Starting with the standardization of the blind spot surveillance system, there are a slew of technological changes in 2022. The warmed steering wheel and a 360º encircle surveillance system are included in the Simplicity package, which is available only on the High price base model. 

A combination radio tuner, and also the fully unified toll phase modulation, are included in the Executive package of Top quality Plus (heated rear seats and adaptive cruise control among them).

Audi’s Q8 mid-size luxury SUV will be the only model offered in 2022.

Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trims are all available this year, each with its own set of features. A 3.0-liter V6 engine with 355 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque powers all of them. The Q8’s powertrain includes a 48-volt gentle hybrid model and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The hybrid system reportedly adds 11 horsepower when pushed hard.

With Premium Plus, you get even more features and benefits. The Bang & Olufsen top-quality audio system, sophisticated LED atmospheric room lamps, 4-zone temperature controls, airflow for the front seats, and the encircle camera system are all included in this trim. Additionally, the Convenience bundle is included as is everything else on this trim.

Premium trim levels come equipped with a hands-free liftgate as well as a responsive suspension, lane-departure alerting, forward collision caution, and fully automated low emergency stop. A panoramic sunroof is also included. An Audi Virtual Cockpit (an electronic gauge cluster showcase) is included in the cabin as are dual touchscreens, warmed front seats, and mobile phone app assimilation (wireless when you use Apple CarPlay).

The Audi Pre Perception Rear framework, which also performs to minimize the impact of a possible rear-end collision, is available with the Convenience package, which must be ordered in addition to the base model. Auto-dimming side reflectors and a cordless charging pad are also included.

The new Executive package for 2022 includes warmed rear outboard seats as well as responsive cruise control. That package has been replaced by this one, which is more comprehensive.

The top-of-the-line Prestige trim level offers an abundance of luxuries. With the Executive bundle, you’ll get everything from the lower-level trims. There’s also a head-up display, LED headlights that are distinctive in appearance, power rear roller shades, and updated leather upholstery.

It’s possible to choose from three different packages: one for cold weather, another for adaptive chassis, and a third option is called “Luxury.”

The 2022 Audi Q8 would then accelerate quickly if you give it a strong push, but it does take some effort for the car to go from zero to sixty miles per hour (which it does in about 5.6 seconds). This is not a slow showcasing by any means, but many comparably configured vehicles in this section are about as quick or perhaps even quicker. 

This is a merely a mediocre product. If you want a more incisive throttle response, merely change the vehicle’s default drive mode. Otherwise, it will feel dull and lifeless, which is the opposite of what you’d anticipate from an Audi. Sport mode enhances the responsiveness, and we believe drivers will favor it for this reason.

When it comes to driving dynamics, the Q8 exhibits impressive poise. When Sport mode is selected, the suspension exhibits remarkable restraint, resulting in a spirited ride in the turns. When driving at faster speeds, you will notice the SUV’s weight and lack of body roll. There is a correct balance of responses whenever it gets to steering, as well as the driver has to exert a suitable level of work.

The fuel economy of the 2022 Audi Q8 is less than average for its class, and that’s saying a lot. There isn’t much benefit from using a mild hybrid power system. The Q8 gets 19 miles per gallon on the highway, according to the EPA (with 17 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway). As a result, the Q8’s estimated fuel economy is around 2-3 mpg lower than what other vehicles in this segment can achieve in real-world testing.

When it comes to driving, the 2022 Audi Q8 performs about as well as you’d expect it to. There are, even so, competitors in this market segment with improved acceleration and fuel economy. As a result, the Q8 may not be the best choice for everyone. If that’s the case, consider driving other cars first (such as the Q7) before coming to a decision.
