2022 Audi Q7, SQ7

This year’s Q7 has significant updates. Blind-spot tracking is standard on all designs. In regards to the 360-degree camera, the Simplicity Package contains a heated steering wheel. 

Premium Plus models come with an Executive Package as standard equipment. It integrates the prior Toasty Weather/Cold Weather/Driver Assistance Packages. A leather-wrapped steering wheel and warmed rear seats are now included as standard equipment on the Prestige.

The Audi Q7 is only available as a gas or hybrid-powered third-row luxury SUV in 2022.

It doesn’t get any better than this if you want a car that really can compete with the Audi Q7 in 2022. Because of its impressive power, the turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine in the Q7 is able to surpass third-row SUV competitors. This engine’s 0-60 time is remarkable for the vehicle’s class at 5.9 seconds. Q7’s all-season tires aren’t made for excessive speeding, but they do help the car remain stable when going around edges, which even the Q7 does without any issues.

The most critical aspect is, of course, the level of comfort. Latitudinally, the front rows are well-supported, and the additional lumbar assistance in the first row is welcoming. Seats in the third row are more comfortable because they’re heated and vented. 

However, this row should only be used by children. Noise and vibration is kept out of the cabin thanks to the standard suspension’s ability to handle small bumps. Traveling is silent because of the low noise transmitting into the cabin.

This vehicle makes extensive use of technology. The MMI navigation system is easy to learn and use; it doesn’t take long to become familiar with the controls. GPS navigation relies on Google Maps, which can be used in a wide range of ways to help you find your way around the city. Integrating your phone or tablet into the car is a cinch now  Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are pre-installed on all base models.

Depending on your needs, Audi offers the Q7 in a variety of colors and trim levels. The entry-level model is called Premium. The High price trim level adds a hands-free liftgate, a scenic sunroof, and LED headlights. Power-folding third-row seating capacity, adaptive cruise control with three regions, the always-impressive MMI nav system, and a 10-speaker stereo are just some of the inner features.

The Executive Package adds a temperature control system with four zones, sunshades for the rear seats, and airflow for the front seats. In regards to the previously noted characteristics, you’ll also receive responsive cruise authority, carriageway, and a forward active safety system with fully automated emergency braking.

When it comes to technology, the Prestige prototype at the very top of the range has it all. Apart from the Premium Plus’s characteristics, it has responsive traction control, sound-reducing glass, updated lighting effects, and soft-close gates as standard as well (optional packages included).

It’s a toss-up between the two in terms of fuel efficiency. The base 4-cylinder engine gets 20 mpg, but that drops to 19 mpg coupled with a stronger engine with 23 mpg on highways and 19 mpg in cities. In-field testing confirms that the EPA’s projections are reasonably accurate.

The Audi Q7, a potent and fashionable third-row SUV, will go on sale in 2022. Although the Q7 has typical class issues like a small third row and poor fuel economy, it excels in other areas thanks to a lengthy list of standard technology and safety equipment.
