2024 GMC Canyon Overview

What’s new

  • The AT4X AEV, a version of the AT4X that can go very off-road, is released.
  • The AT4 and elevation trims both come with an 11-inch digital gauge screen as standard.
  • You can now choose the blind spot warning system to cover trailers.
  • As part of the third generation of Canyons coming out in 2023.

The 2024 GMC Canyon is now an even better midsize crew-cab pickup truck than it was a year ago when it was redesigned. The 8-inch screen that came with the Elevation and AT4 trim levels has been swapped out for an 11-inch digital instrument panel that comes standard on all 2024 Canyons. The ProGrade Trailering System also adds trailer coverage to Canyon vehicles’ blind-spot warning system. This gives drivers more confidence to use the truck’s impressive towing power. The main focus is on the Canyon AT4X AEV Edition, which was made in partnership with American Expedition Vehicles. It makes the Canyon’s off-road performance even better than it already was.

The previous year, the AT4X was the Canyon model that could go off-road the best. Now, Canyon AT4X AEV Edition fans who really love off-roading can choose it. The AT4X AEV is ready for almost anything because it has steel front and rear bumpers, four strong Boron steel underbody skid plates that protect the truck’s important parts, and 35-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around 17-inch wheels that can be deadlocked. There are also better recovery points on the truck and a full-size spare tire in the cargo bed in case something goes wrong on your trip. The Canyon AT4X option package comes with AEV gear.

In the midsize truck market, the 2024 GMC Canyon will have to deal with new rivals such as the updated Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma. The Jeep Gladiator and Honda Ridgeline also get updates to keep their spots on lists of cars to consider. Is the Canyon strong enough to keep them away? It definitely has the power, strength, beauty, technology, and skill to do that. But high prices and low ratings for fuel efficiency may make you look at other options.

Pros

  • Strength and the ability to pull a lot.
  • It’s easy to drive and turn on both asphalt and dirt.
  • A roomy interior and a great place to drive.
  • An infotainment system that uses Google is easy to set up and use.

Cons

  • High costs to start up.
  • Ratings for fuel efficiency could be more impressive.
  • Length of the bed and style of the single-cab.
  • Changing transmissions without a plan.

The Canyon AT4 is the best choice for those who want to save money, look good, and get things done. It has a nice interior, a strong exterior, and four-wheel drive as standard. You can make as many changes as your budget allows.

Styles for the GMC Canyon

The 2024 GMC Canyon comes in four trim levels: Elevation, AT4, AT4X, and Denali. It’s not a stand-alone model; the new AT4X AEV is an add-on package.
