2025 Jaguar F-Pace Overview

What’s new:

  • The top-level SVR grade gets 25 more horsepower.
  • You can now choose to have automatic parking.
  • Part of the first release of the 2017 F-Pace generation

Jaguar has a history of making beautiful coupes and cars, so its few sleek SUVs are easy to miss. The biggest version, the 2025 Jaguar F-Pace, has the most powerful performance and most useful SUV features, like being able to carry the most weight of any car in its class. The F-Pace is a great choice for thrill-seekers who are also responsible and in charge of the family. It handles more like the low-slung F-Type and XF siblings than like a top-heavy SUV. It’s too bad that Jaguar is going to stop making the F-Pace soon, probably after this model year, and switch to only making electric cars instead. Reports say that only one SUV will make it through, and it’s likely to be the small electric I-Pace. Grab one while they last.

The F-Pace is a little bigger than its smaller rivals, but for a small SUV, it’s just the right size and looks great. Even though it’s only an inch longer than the BMW X3, it has about 3.5 cubic feet more space for cargo and more headroom in the back seat. Both Mercedes and Genesis models have about the same width in the back, which is longer than an inch. Genesis models also have more storage space. The F-Pace’s three engine choices show how versatile it is. They range from a well-behaved four-cylinder to a V8 engine that makes 567 horsepower more powerful for this model year. Jaguar has hinted that if this is the F-Pace’s last fight, it will end with a boom that isn’t like it usually does. We’ll definitely be sad to see it go because it gets good gas mileage and has some of the sportiest driving in its class.

The longer length of the F-Pace gives it more space inside for items and people because it is longer than most compact competitors, like the BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Genesis GV70. The starting price of the F-Pace is higher than that of its rivals, though, and it’s often priced in the middle of bigger midsize rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLE or BMW X5. There are, however, a limited number of options for the F-Pace because it comes with a surprising number of features that cost more than other models. The Jaguar is the best when it comes to strength, speed, and usefulness, even though it has some annoying tech features and questionable build quality.

Pros

  • There are fast six-cylinder engines and very strong V8 engines.
  • More room for bags than most of its rivals.
  • It handles, stops, and turns more like a racing car than an SUV.

Cons

  • The trim inside squeaks and creaks.
  • Wind and road noise are worse than those of rivals.
  • Some rules are more complicated than they need to be.

How does the motor in the F-PACE work? When it comes to the F-Pace, speed has always been more important than comfort. When Jaguar updated the F-Pace, they changed the suspension to make the ride more comfortable. Sadly, that comfort comes at the cost of being able to move your hands easily. Even though the F-Pace isn’t very exciting, it’s well-built around bends. We like the brakes and handling, though. The road gives you feedback, and the steering effort is fine-tuned to make you feel more attached. It is easy to stop, and the brakes look strong.

The six-cylinder supercharged engine was put in our test F-Pace. It took six seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, which is eight-tenths of a second faster than the last F-Pace we drove that had a boosted V6 engine. A few small luxury SUVs with six-cylinder engines are much faster. These are the Porsche Macan and the Audi SQ5.

How nice is the inside of the F-Pace? The new F-Pace is more comfortable than the 2017–2020 models. Driving the old car every day was harder than it needed to be because it had a rough ride. But the F-Pace rides better, even though it still needs to be more fancy.

The optional performance seats in our test car looked like they belonged in a racing car. They are very comfortable and padded, and they can be adjusted in a lot of ways. The only bad thing about them is that they don’t have a thigh cushion addition for drivers with longer legs. The climate control system is a mess of touch-sensitive buttons and knobs that don’t work and have to be pushed and pulled to get to different settings. Even though automakers are always looking for new ways to make their cars with fewer buttons, we know that there is a better answer.

Even though the F-Pace does a great job of blocking out outside noise, we couldn’t help but hear many parts squeaking and crackling as we leaned on the armrests and turned the door knobs in our test car. No matter how little they bother you, these sounds don’t belong in a car of this class and price.

How is the inside? The F-Pace’s cabin is pretty nice. However, the control system could be better. The audio menus are not very easy to use, and the touch-sensitive buttons sometimes respond.

The room inside is great. In particular, there is more space in the back than in other small premium SUVs. Additionally, it’s easy to get into the right driving position. But on our test F-Pace, we found a very simple way to change the steering column that is too good to pass up at this price. Visibility is good enough, but better than in other classes. The standard surround-view camera setup can give you almost any camera view you want.

What’s wrong with the tech? This model is better than the last F-Pace because it has a much better built-in navigation system, a good Meridian audio system, smartphone support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more than one charging port inside the cabin for passengers’ electronics.

Except for adaptive cruise control, which is an expensive extra, the advanced driver aid suite is pretty complete and comes as standard. We used to think that Jaguar’s driving aids were the best in their class, but now that other technologies have gotten better, they are only average. The adaptive cruise control can be slow to react when something goes wrong, and the steering assist isn’t great at keeping you in your lane.

What’s going on with storage? Behind the back seats of the F-Pace, there is a huge cargo room that takes up almost 30 cubic feet. The 40/20/40 split plan of the back seats gives you a lot of options when it comes to car seats and long bags. The child safety seat anchors are easy to get to, so taking off the back cargo cover is not needed to install a forward-facing seat.

If being able to pull a trailer is important to you, the F-Pace will be a better choice. With a maximum towing ability of 5,291 pounds, it can pull more than other cars in its class.

How much fuel does it use? The six-cylinder F-Pace is more fuel-efficient than cars of the same year with newer engines. It gets 21 mpg in mixed driving, which is 1-2 mpg more than the norm. The four-cylinder F-Pace gets 24 mpg combined, while the SVR only gets 17 mpg combined. The EPA claim is true because our test F-Pace got an average of 24.3 mpg on our 115-mile mixed-driving route.

How much does the F-PACE cost? It’s easy to say “No.” The F-Pace is one of the most expensive cars in its class, even though it comes with a lot of nice features. It also doesn’t feel like you’re getting much for your money. If the materials and trims inside are of good quality, squeaky panels inside make you wonder about the long-term quality of the building.

Jaguar includes scheduled maintenance and roadside help for an extra five years or 60,000 miles on top of the standard warranty and coverage for the powertrain, which adds some value.

Being able to drive the Jaguar F-Pace is fun, and it’s also a comfy, gas-efficient daily driver. We also love the way it looks. The F-Pace’s style doesn’t look forced, and it’s clear that it’s a Jaguar.

The midrange Jaguar P400 R-Dynamic S is known for its beautiful look and strong performance, which it has in spades. Even though it costs about $10,000 more than the base model, the six-cylinder engine is worth the extra money. For about 15% more money, you can get better suspension, brakes, and traction, as well as a 60% boost in speed.

Styles of the Jaguar F-PACE

The 2025 Jaguar F-Pace is a small luxury SUV with five seats. There are three trim levels: the P250 R-Dynamic S, the P400 R-Dynamic S, and the SVR 575 Edition.
