2023 Nissan Kicks Overview

What’s new?

  • In 2023, everything will remain the same.
  • Part of the first generation of Kicks, which came out in 2018.

The 2023 Nissan Kicks is a small SUV that works well in cities, but there are better vehicles for a short trip off-road. The Kicks is one of the few cars in its class that doesn’t have all-wheel drive, and the four-cylinder engine could use more power. Still, the Kicks is Nissan’s smallest and most affordable SUV alternative. It has many excellent standard features if you’re on a tight budget.

If you like the Nissan Kicks, look at the Hyundai Venue or the Kia Soul. Both have low starting prices and don’t need all-wheel drive. If your budget is more extensive, consider the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Mazda CX-30, and Hyundai Kona.

Pros

  • Technology that helps drivers is becoming more and more popular.
  • Reasonable cost
  • Excellent fuel efficiency
  • Controls that are easy to understand and use

Cons

  • Getting faster bit by bit
  • Unappealing seats
  • Inadequate rear legroom
  • You can’t get all-wheel drive.

The Kicks could be doing better in terms of their play. The time it takes to go from 0 to 60 mph (10.7 seconds) is one of the slowest in its class, which means it moves slowly. The way the pedals move is strange and spongy, but the brakes are easy to use and stop the bike smoothly. In our tests of emergency stops, the Kicks did a great job.

On the other hand, The Kicks has a few good points. It’s fun to drive on a winding road because the suspension is responsive and keeps the car stable. We also like how quickly and easily the transmission can change gear ratios when driving usually. It avoids the problems that often happen with messages that constantly change.

Comfort isn’t usually a priority in a cheap subcompact car, but you should get rid of these ugly seats, especially the back bench. Depending on where you sit, the front seats may not have enough support for your upper back. The court is hard and flat, and the backrests in the back seats are too upright. These are some of the most uncomfortable seats we’ve ever sat in.

The Kicks can also sometimes get a little rowdy. As you go faster down the highway, the wind’s noise only worsens. On the other hand, the Kicks are very sensitive to noise from the road. The only good thing about this category is that the Kicks have a comfortable ride that removes many bumps in the street without being too floaty.

Once you get used to it, Kicks’ cabin is convenient for entering and exiting. The touchscreen and the climate control menus are easy to understand and use. Large windows and a low hood make it easy to see out of the front and sides of the car. Even though it’s not ideal, the big roof pillars in the back make it much harder to see what’s behind you.

On the other hand, drivers who are taller or have wider feet may have trouble getting comfortable. The seats are low and upright, which can be uncomfortable, and the gas pedal is close to the side of the footwell. The Kicks’ back seats are smaller than those in other small SUVs.

Almost everything a modern smartphone user could want is in the Kicks. There are also four USB ports, an Apple CarPlay, and an Android Auto smartphone connection. The standard touchscreen is either 7 or 8 inches, depending on the trim level. But we found the touchscreen hard to use in bright sunlight because it shines.

The Kicks comes with many high-tech driving aids right out of the box. They work well in most situations, but the traffic-adaptive cruise control keeps the Kicks too far away from the car in front of it. The optional parking camera system with a 360-degree view, which is rare at this price point, is beneficial for parking in tight spaces. For such a low price, there is a lot of exciting technology.

Behind the back seats of the Kicks, there is more space for cargo (25,3 cubic feet) than in many other small SUVs. But the freight that could be carried could be a lot more. Because there is no central pass-through, longer items can only be loaded by folding down the back seats, and the back seats don’t fold all the way flat. Your things will fit into small storage spaces. If you need more space, combine the cup holder and the large pocket in front of the gear shifter to make a medium-sized cubby. Both the door pockets and the storage in the middle are small.

Do they have children who need safety seats to be put in their cars? The Kicks has three top tether anchors and four lower seat anchors that are marked and easy to reach. But because there is little room for legs in the back of the Kicks, it will be hard to install seats that face the rear.

The Kicks’ gas mileage depends significantly on how the driver drives, but it only takes a little to keep the average above 30 mpg. Our test car got a high of 37.4 mpg on a single fill-up and an average of 33.4 mpg throughout the test. The EPA says the car will get 33 mpg (31 in the city and 36 on the highway). Overall, this tiny SUV is a great deal.

The Kicks is the best value in its class because it has a low starting price and upgrades to higher, fully-equipped trims that don’t cost too much. Even though the dashboard and door panels are made of too much plastic, there are enough luxury materials in other parts of the cabin to make the whole experience more enjoyable.

The standard for the basic warranty in this segment is three years or 36,000 miles, and the standard for the powertrain warranty is five years or 60,000 miles. You can get roadside help for three years or 36,000 miles.

There are a lot of subcompact SUVs on the market, so for a car to stand out, it needs to be different. The Kicks has a stylish look and a modern interior with a prominent touchscreen, both excellent points. Even going slowly, getting around a curved section of the road is fun. If the Kicks could go faster and had less plastic on the inside, it would be a much better choice.

Check out the SV trim around the middle. You get better information and entertainment, better breaks, and several other features that make life easier.
