Our Opinion - 2023 Nissan Sentra Review

The brand-new 2023 Nissan Sentra is an affordable compact car that gets excellent gas mileage and has sufficient power to get you where you need to go. The Sentra is full of features and comes with the latest safety technology as standard. Nissan has given the Sentra a new look that includes the V-Motion front grille and LED headlights typical of the model. The chassis of the Sentra was also lowered and made narrower by a few inches to make it look more athletic. Let’s look at what makes the new 2023 Nissan Sentra functional and attractive.

Toyota and Honda have always been more popular than the Sentra, but Nissan’s new model for 2020 took us by surprise. There was a small Nissan car that was more than just an inexpensive base model. In a 2022 comparison test, its sleek design, enough legroom in the back seats, and smooth ride stood out.

In that comparison, the Sentra came in third instead of sixth, but we think Nissan will change the 2023 model in the following ways. The front end of the 2023 Nissan Sentra will probably be changed and will have a more prominent grille. We’ll see how the 2023 Sentra looks with less chrome and more blacked-out trim, like the 2023 Altima and Versa sedans. The current Sentra grille seems aggressive.

The 2023 Nissan Sentra’s most significant change is to keep selling lower grades at competitive prices without changing the wheels, grille, or colors. In 2023, Honda will stop selling the LX trim level of the Civic. This will give the Sentra more room to move.

Pros:

  • Numerous similarities
  • The price to start is less than that of the Civic.

Cons:

  • No hybrid
  • You can’t choose AWD.

The new Sentra is more comfortable and supportive to drive than its predecessor. The model’s lower center of gravity and more carefully put-together chassis make it easier to navigate. The Sentra is easier to go everywhere because it can be turned quickly and precisely. The form-fitting seats in the Sentra show that comfort was also crucial to Nissan’s designers. These seats make long drives less painful. The vehicle’s multilink rear suspension makes the ride smooth, even over rough terrain.

The 2023 Nissan Sentra is cheap, reliable, and good at getting you where you need to go. The Sentra’s new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) give it 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. With 29 mpg in the city, 39 mpg on the highway, and 33 mpg overall, the Sentra has the highest EPA rating. Some analysts say the Sentra could get a new independent rear suspension in 2023. This would improve the ride, handling, and gas mileage while keeping the price at the top of its class.

Nissan’s small car has the usual amount of technology to help the driver. They can add adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree video system to all models except for the base model. The following are essential parts of security:

  • Automatic emergency brakes and a warning of a possible frontal collision are standard.
  • standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
  • Automatic emergency brakes in the back

Nissan’s limited warranty and powertrain are good but could be better. On the other hand, coverage for small competitors like Kia and Hyundai is much better. Volkswagen, like Toyota, provides free maintenance.

  • The warranty lasts for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
  • The warranty on the powertrain is good for five years or 60,000 miles.
  • There is no free maintenance planned.

The interior of the Sentra is one of the nicest in its class. Except for the base model, the 7.0-inch screen is surrounded by simple analog gauges. In the middle of the dashboard are three round air vents on top of the harsh climate control.

Soft and hard plastics are mixed to make the inside material, but the soft plastic covers the visible surface and helps cover the rest. The model with a leather interior looks very luxurious, even though the flat bottom of the sports steering wheel goes against this.

Zero Gravity chairs, which are very soft, flexible, and supportive, are also given to people in the front seats. Adults have enough room in the front and back of the cabin unless they use the sunroof, which cuts down on headroom.

Another piece of luggage from the Corolla car was the 14-cubic-foot Sentra, which could hold seven carry-on luggage. Each Sentra dashboard has a touchscreen in the middle with physical buttons for changing the volume and other settings.

The other models have 8.0-inch screens and USB ports in the front and back seats, but the cheapest model only has a 7.0-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The second system works with more advanced features like a Wi-Fi hotspot, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, and a SiriusXM satellite radio.

When tuning the radio or changing the temperature, the controls are easy for both the driver and the passenger. The 8-inch touch screen is easy to read and use.

Even though the small Nissan might need better gas mileage, the 2023 Sentra’s engine will not change much. A 2.0-liter naturally aspirated I-4 engine with 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque came standard on the 2022 model. Every level will come with a CVT automatic transmission as standard.

The 2023 Sentra should have the same technological improvements as the 2022 model. These include standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert and braking, and blind-spot monitoring. The base S trim of the 2023 Sentra may come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen as standard. Right now, the base S has a 7.0-inch screen. Some borders may offer wireless charging.

The 2023 Sentra has enough room for the whole family. The back seats are broad, and everyone has enough legroom. The zero-gravity front seats of the Sentra reduce pressure points, which helps drivers feel less tired and more comfortable. The back seats have a 60/40 split that lets them be folded down to make 405 liters of space in the trunk. There are also many places for everyone to store things that are easy to get to. The 2023 Nissan Sentra will have modern features like a heated steering wheel that can be added as an option, automatic climate control with two zones that can be added as an option, and heated front seats that come standard. In addition to that, it will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
