If anything changes, we’ll change our recommendation, but based on the Escape from last year, the SE trim is the best overall deal. For a slight price increase over the base model, you get some nice updates to the standard and extra features. Ford Escape model A fuel-efficient 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain with 200 system horsepower is available for the SE and SEL, but it’s standard on the Titanium. The wheels are turned by an automatic transmission that constantly changes (CVT). If you want more power, choose the SEL or Titanium trim level with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (250 horsepower, 280 lb-ft).
