2023 Ford Escape Overview

What’s new:

  • A new front and back design could be one of the changes made in 2023.
  • There might also be more giant touchscreens in the middle.
  • In 2020, Ford will put out the fourth generation of the Escape.

The 2023 Ford Escape is a best-selling crossover SUV. Ford Escape competes with Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. Gas, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid engines are available. It also has a lot of technology inside the car and various standard and optional driver aids. The Escape is roomy and comfortable, and it gets great gas mileage thanks to its hybrid powertrain.

Ford has yet to make any official announcements, but photos have been found of prototype Escapes with their front and back bumpers covered. This makes it possible that there will be an upgrade in 2023. The current model of the Escape came out in 2020. Popular cars like the Escape usually get completely redesigned every five to six years, with a few minor upgrades in between.

One change for 2023 could be a new look on the outside. We wouldn’t be surprised if Ford added new powertrains or updated technology and driver aids. Ford could also improve the touchscreen features in the middle of the car. Before, the standard screen size for most Escape models was 8 inches. Ford may employ a 10-inch Explorer or 12-inch F-150 screen in a 2023 upgrade.

The Escape has competition almost everywhere. The Nissan Rogue, the Mazda CX-5, and the Honda CR-V are three of invoice pricing’ top picks. Ford has changed its focus from making cars to SUVs, so it has a wide range of SUVs to choose from. Ford makes the Edge, Escape, and Bronco Sport, a rugged Escape-based SUV. Overall, the Escape is an excellent little SUV with a good mix of features, comfort, and utility, and we recommend it.

Pros:

  • The seats are both comfortable and roomy.
  • Excellent riding quality
  • Simple to use controls
  • There is a hybrid engine that gets about 40 mpg.

Cons:

  • Unexpected shifts in the transmission
  • If you exercised greater caution, it would be beneficial.

As of this writing, Ford has not told anything official about the 2023 Escape. If anything changes, we’ll change our recommendation, but based on the Escape from last year, the SE trim is the best overall deal. For a slight price increase over the base model, you get some nice updates to the standard and extra features.

A fuel-efficient 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain with 200 system horsepower is available for the SE and SEL, but it’s standard on the Titanium. The wheels are turned by an automatic transmission that constantly changes (CVT). If you want more power, choose the SEL or Titanium trim level with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (250 horsepower, 280 lb-ft). Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available for the three-cylinder and hybrid engines, but the turbo-four is only available with all-wheel drive.
