2024 Ford Explorer Overview

What’s new:

  • There will probably be a new aesthetic in 2024.
  • There might even be a new generation of panels and displays for use in automobiles.
  • The next Explorer iteration, number six, is scheduled for release in 2020.

The Ford Explorer is a huge SUV that can comfortably seat up to seven people. It was one of the first sport utility vehicles to achieve mass appeal in the States. The 2020 release of the sixth-generation model brought improved performance and several new conveniences. No official details on the 2024 Ford Explorer had been released when our study went to press. Nonetheless, we anticipate a few tweaks here and there to keep the Explorer fresh.

Images of test mules suggest that the upcoming model will feature redesigned headlights, taillights, and grille. The grille may feature an LED light bar, similar to the one on the Ford F-150 Lightning EV pickup. A redesign, a larger central touchscreen, and updates to standard and optional features are all possibilities for the 2024 Explorer.

When it came out 30 years ago, the Explorer became the benchmark for all SUVs and crossovers. The market for three-row SUVs has become increasingly competitive as more manufacturers offer them. Compared to vehicles like the Kia Telluride, Volkswagen Atlas, and Honda Pilot, all of which feature roomy cabins, large luggage areas, and pleasant rides, the Explorer ranks in the centre. A hybrid drivetrain is an available extra, and there are also luxury and high-performance models and on- and off-road variants.

Pros

  • Engines with a rapid acceleration curve
  • Constant handling
  • A staggering array of driving aids
  • A big storage space

Cons

  • Although the hybrid option saves on fuel, it is not available on most trim levels.
  • Shockingly considerable increases in cost are possible.
  • The third row could be uncomfortable for adults.

Ford has yet to receive an official word regarding the 2024 Explorer. Based on the previous generation, Explorer, the XLT is the most significant value. It provides more excellent customization options and features that customers have requested above the standard model.

Models of the Ford Explorer

Ford offers numerous Explorer models, each with trim levels and features (primary, XLT, ST-Line, Timberline, Limited, ST, King Ranch, and Platinum). The higher-end Explorers are powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that generates 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. A 300-horsepower and 310-pound-foot torque turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine powers the base Explorer models. Several variations of the Explorer are outfitted with a 3.3-liter V6 hybrid engine that generates 318 horsepower.
