2024 Ford Bronco Overview

The popularity of off-road sports is on the rise. Possible explanations include the return of individuals with limited mobility due to the pandemic and the widespread availability of new off-road vehicles. The Ford Bronco is one of the most well-known and shares some of the Jeep Wranglers off-roading abilities.

Due to the 2024 Ford Bronco’s positive reception and gradual evolution over the past three years, we don’t anticipate any significant updates to the vehicle. We don’t expect new paint jobs or unique edition trimmings to be as spectacular as last year’s Raptor or Everglades models.

How fast does the Bronco go? The Bronco’s quick-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission and turbo four- or six-cylinder engines provide more than adequate power for daily travel. The increased speed and manoeuvrability of the V6 Bronco make driving on ramps and tight curves a lot more fun. Given that it has broad tires and four doors, its 7.3-second 0-60 mph time is respectable.

Hard braking resulted in a significant nosedive, although this is par for the course for off-road SUVs and occurred even though emergency stopping distances were more critical than we would have preferred. The car needed to slow to a stop from 60 mph in 146 feet. Pickup trucks with heavy payloads frequently make the trip. However, other Broncos with less active tires still took 10 feet longer to stop, 10 feet longer than we’d want to see, despite our test vehicle having the Sasquatch off-road package and durable tires.

The focus should be on the wheel. Since the Bronco has an independent front suspension, driving it at high speeds on the highway feels safe and secure. Although going on winding roads isn’t exactly thrilling, you’ll be relieved to hear that navigating turns won’t wear you out if you have a lengthy trip ahead of you.

How luxurious is the Bronco? The Bronco is not flashy, but it is more enjoyable to drive than its main competitor, the Jeep Wrangler. The Bronco’s adjustable and supportive seats make long highway trips more bearable. The ride is a touch harsher and more challenging than in other SUVs due to its truck-like construction, but it’s not enough to put you off.

If you must leave the doors open on a cold day, you’ll be glad you have heated front seats. The automated temperature setting may be adjusted using the simple dual-zone temperature control. The Bronco suffers in this category because its retractable hardtop allows considerable wind noise to enter the cabin at nearly all speeds. Some noises and vibrations were also present during our off-road testing.

Can you describe the interior? Even though the Bronco has the duplicate high entry and exit points as other off-road vehicles, the cabin has many grab bars to make the process easier for passengers. Putting the front grab grips on the dashboard could be better, but it will have to do. The seat and the wheel can be adjusted to put the driver in a comfortable position to view the dashboard and other controls. We prefer the more extensive, physically present buttons because they are more accessible when wearing gloves.

There is a lot of room inside the Bronco, despite the appearance of a smaller cabin. This is true even in two-door vehicles, though getting into the back seats may be difficult if the front seats need to recline further.

If you had to rate the technology, how would it fare? Standard driver aids such as adaptive cruise control and exterior cameras can be purchased as standard or optional features. The Bronco also includes a variety of drive modes that allow for hands-on operation by seasoned off-roaders or hands-off operation by the vehicle for novices. Adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance are among the functions we discovered to be misconfigured.

In addition, the Bronco is equipped with Ford’s most recent software for accessing the web and playing music. The main display delivers crisp visuals across both wired and wireless connections, and it’s simple to hook up smartphones like the iPhone and the Android. Our test vehicle’s radio had problems drowning out road noise when travelling at motorway speeds.

Where do we stand on putting things away? The Bronco offers more passenger and cargo room because of its larger size compared to the Wrangler. On the other hand, the four-door Bronco is less spacious than the Toyota 4Runner in the exact dimensions. The Bronco has a passenger-side opening swing gate held in place by a spring. Hardtop cars have a rear window that can be rolled up quickly, while soft tops have a smaller opening and require a rod to remain stable.

Cupholders and cubbies provide ample space for personal items within. Due to the shallowness of the nets, most standard water bottles will not fit in the door pockets. How efficient is it when it comes to gas? Since it was a newer model and had a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Bronco would have higher gas mileage. The EPA estimates that a four-cylinder Bronco will achieve 17–20 mpg when fully loaded. A six-cylinder vehicle will get between 17 and 19 miles per gallon on the interstate. These figures typically come in lower than those for cars with a similar exterior to the Jeep Wrangler.

Our 2.7-liter V6 First Edition Bronco, which had four doors, was rated at 17 mpg by the EPA on the interstate. We could equal the Jeep’s combined horsepower in mixed driving conditions, except the V8-powered 392 horsepower.

Is it a good idea to purchase a Bronco? Even in the most expensive Broncos, some buyers may be put off by the durability of some interior components because of how they look when exposed to the weather. The Ford Bronco undercuts the Jeep Wrangler in price while offering superior off-road capabilities. This expands the range of prices for consumers to choose from. The First Edition Bronco we drove was almost $60,000, so keep that in mind. Although pricey, it includes most of the standard and available features found in the Bronco.

The basic warranty lasts for three years or 36,000 miles, and the powertrain lasts for five years or 60,000 miles, which is about par for the course regarding ownership advantages. The corrosion warranty lasts for the same number of years as the roadside assistance, regardless of the number of miles travelled, and the roadside assistance lasts for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The Bronco has an admirable personality and impressive abilities. It doesn’t care about aesthetics, but its sturdy construction gives it a pleasant appearance. While the Bronco’s upgraded ride and handling make it more appealing on the road, dropping the top and doors makes driving as enjoyable as a Wrangler.

Driver aids for off-roading, such as the Trail Turn Assist, are great for both newcomers and seasoned veterans of the sport. The Bronco features a manual transmission, which is all the more astonishing given that it has crawler gear with an exceptionally high ratio.

Ford has made no announcements regarding the 2024 Bronco as of this writing. Our recommendation is based on the Bronco from the previous year, so if anything changes, we’ll update it.
