2024 Nissan Rogue Overview

The 2024 Nissan Rogue is a standard SUV, not a “Rogue.” It’s more of a value-oriented alternative. Its broad appeal makes it a popular small SUV. Nissan last redesigned the Rogue in 2021, so if history is any guide, we can expect a minor redesign this or next year. We hope little and are convinced everything under the surface will stay the same.

The 2024 Nissan Rogue will be revealed in the summer, so stay tuned. For now, we recommend our small SUV picks. Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-50.

Rogue movement—how? Powerful three-cylinder supercharged engine. It can join and pass. It can reach 60 mph in 8 seconds. While driving, the engine and transmission may not respond promptly to acceleration. The engine initially lags before lurching and surging.

The Rogue can be quiet and skilled, but it’s not entertaining. Handling lacks road feel. Straight steering has a dead spot, especially at city speeds. You’ll drift if you’re too slow to employ the Rogue’s lane-centering system.

Rogue ride quality? Rogue SUVs are usually lovely. Soft chairs make long flights more comfortable. The only issue with the front seats is that the headrests are too far forward for more significant drivers. Small SUVs rarely have three-zone climate control like the Rogue. Rogue rides harsher than top competitors on rough roads. Because the Rogue moved over the uneven pavement more than expected, we felt several of the road’s sharp edges.

The interior? Large, light doors make entering and exiting the Rogue easy. The Rogue’s spacious cabin gives it a more prominent appearance. Tall, expansive windows provide a vast perspective of the outdoors, making the space feel bigger. Driver assistance can reduce blind spots despite the massive rear roof pillars. The inside is well-designed, but taller drivers may need help changing driving positions, and the back has less headroom than in other cars.

Tech quality? The Rogue offers many essential features to help drivers and entertain passengers. High-end models have a large touchscreen, digital gauge cluster, head-up display, and wireless Apple CarPlay integration. The digital gauge cluster menus and directions take some time to learn, even though most technology is simple. Speech orders may need to be more consistent and easier to adjust.

The Rogue also boasts lane-centering and automated rear braking. Driver aids usually work effectively, although they might be challenging to utilize in stop-and-go traffic.

Are they storing things? The Rogue can haul items. It has less cargo space than the class leader, but its storage alternatives are more significant. Higher trims have easy-to-adjust floor panels that can be slid down for more room or up for a flat-load bed or walls. Front and back passengers can use various trays and drink holders in the interior.

The spacious back doors and accessible LATCH points make it easy for parents to get their kids in and out of the car.

Is it gas efficient? In city/highway driving, the EPA expects front-wheel drive cars to score 33 mpg and all-wheel drive models 31 mpg. That’s above average for a non-hybrid small SUV. We drove our AWD Rogue on a designated path for real-world testing. Its 28.5 mpg was poor, but it was a compact SUV that saved gas.

Rogue purchase: wise? Lower Nissan Rogue model prices are fair. Its standard tech features, driving aids, and gas-efficient engine set it apart from other cars in its price category. Higher-level Rogue models lack distinction. Other SUVs in the same price range seem more luxurious, have more amenities and flashy tech, are more fun to drive, or are hybrids with better gas mileage.

Nissan’s guarantee is typical in this class. The standard three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty includes roadside assistance. The powertrain has a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty.

The Rogue creates an excellent first impression with its sharper design and modern, high-quality cabin. Especially in the Platinum variant we drove, the Rogue’s elegance, build quality, and operating rates fall short of that first impression.

Nissan has not announced the 2024 Rogue. Based on last year’s Rogue, we recommend the SV trim. The standard is keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, and a power driver’s seat.

Nissan Rogue

The five-person Nissan Rogue is a small SUV. S, SV, SL, and Platinum trims are available. A 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft powers them all. It has a CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, although all grades provide all-wheel movement.
