Our Opinion - 2024 Nissan Rogue Review

The 2024 Nissan Rogue is mostly known for having a very comfy interior. Our seats are some of the most comfortable we’ve ever seen. The ride is also very smooth. The inside of the Rogue is also very good, with nice materials and the latest technology. Every model has a number of technologies that help the driver, and the top two trim levels come with a big 12.3-inch touchscreen navigation system that runs software from Google. The Rogue’s turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower tries to find a mix between quick acceleration and good gas mileage. The results are only sometimes consistent, which needs to be helped by the fact that driving a two-row ute is boring. The 2024 Rogue will appeal to people who want a stress-free experience from a stylish small SUV, even though it has a dull style.

For the 2024 model year, Nissan is making changes to its small SUV. The Rogue gets new wheels, a grille that shines, and a revised back bumper. Inside, there are a few small changes, but the 12.3-inch tablet is what really makes it stand out. The update includes a Google-powered navigation system and apps that work with it, as well as a new 9.0-inch screen for the SL and Platinum models. There is now a three-year trial time for Nissan Connect services, which is a big increase from the previous six months.

From 2022 on, all Rogues had a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that made 201 horsepower. The inline-three comes with front-wheel drive and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) as standard. An all-wheel drive system is available for purchase. Before, the Rogue had a 2.5-liter four-cylinder non-turbo engine, but the three-cylinder engine seemed more lively during our first test drive. On our test track, though, it only accelerated a little faster than the 2021 with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine we looked at. The 2024 Rogue Platinum can go from 0 to 60 mph in 8.0 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the 2021 model. The Rogue is a nice and smooth car to drive for travel and commuting, but our team doesn’t like how it handles turns.

To fight with rivals like the Subaru Forester and Toyota RAV4, the 2024 Rogue comes with a lot of features that help the driver. In the Platinum trim level, Nissan’s ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving mode comes standard. On the Rogue SL, it can be added as an extra. Visit the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) websites to learn more about the Rogue’s crash test findings. Some important safety factors are:

  • Most automatic emergency brakes can tell who is on the road.
  • It comes with blind-spot detection and back cross-traffic alert as standard.
  • Cruise control that adapts to semi-autonomous mode.

Inside the Rogue, there are style cues from both the Sentra small sedan and the Altima family car. The squared-off shift knob, the bi-level dashboard, and the smart storage sections all look great and make the car easier to use while adding a modern touch. As standard, the SV model comes with cloth seating, but you can also choose faux-leather upholstery. The more expensive SL and Platinum Rogues, which have a semi-aniline hide with quilted stitching, are the only ones that come with real leather upholstery. Some of the extras that can be added are heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and automatic temperature control for three zones.

Rogue’s three-cylinder turbocharged engine can do up to 30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. With all-wheel drive, the estimated gas mileage drops to 28 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. The highway usage drops to 34 mpg when the top-of-the-line Platinum trim is added. Our all-wheel-drive Platinum test car only got 31 mpg on our 75-mph interstate fuel-economy route.

There is a big tablet on the dashboard that stands out as the entertainment system. The Rogue has a basic 8.0-inch screen, but the SL and Platinum models have a 12.3-inch screen with software from Google. It’s the first Nissan that works with Google, which gives it a wider range of apps and a simpler user interface than the stock setup. You can choose not to have high-end features like in-dash navigation and a Bose sound system, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are already built in. The SL and Platinum models both come with a 12.3-inch digital gauge system that can be set up in different ways. The Rogue also has a big 10.8-inch head-up display and a wireless charging spot for smartphones.

The mid-level SV model offers the best value for money in terms of features. It has 18-inch metal wheels, an outside 360-degree camera system, an eight-way power driver’s seat, and Nissan’s ProPilot Assist mode, which lets the car drive itself some of the time. We also recommend the SV Premium package, which comes with roof rails, a power-operated rear liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, and fake leather seats.
