2024 Toyota Sienna Overview

2024 Sienna changes are unlikely. Our crystal ball says Toyota will sell three-year-old automobiles because Siennas are hybrids only—the only hybrid minivan with all-wheel drive (front-wheel drive is possible). Toyota is risking offering only one hybrid power plant for the 2021 Sienna facelift. In a car that prioritised efficiency above speed, fuel economy was improved. Success ensued. Over 20,000 miles, the Sienna achieved 32.9 mpg, missing the EPA’s 35 mpg with AWD. Our front-wheel-drive model earned 42.7 mpg. Chrysler’s electric Pacifica van doesn’t compare.

The Sienna’s family-friendly amenities don’t sacrifice gas mileage. Its visibility, accessibility, and utility surprise us. Foot-open the back doors! Touching the screen or pressing buttons controls the entertainment system. Driver assistance functions aid, despite popular belief. It’s slower than V6-powered automobiles. The Sienna’s second row is also immovable. Toyota’s automobile diverges from others’. It may be the best option.

Live with them?

The 2021 Sienna pulled kids, bikes, and soccer moms for a year. This generation’s first model year.

Pros

  • Slow progress, particularly with many people and things.
  • Stopping smoothly is difficult with uneven brakes.

Sienna driving: how? Due to its hybrid powertrain, the Sienna accelerates well but slower than its competitors. Most vans, including the original V6 Sienna, take an extra second to reach 60 mph. This decreased pace is barely noticeable throughout town. It’s apparent on highways and hills.

The Sienna performs effectively despite its lack of agility. SUVs are harder to drive. The handling is well-balanced, allowing long highway rides. It’s light and easy to turn slowly.

The pedal can be unpleasant and grabby, but the emergency brake works effectively. This makes stopping difficult.

Is the Sienna comfortable? We drove for hours without incident. Its versatility stands out even though it’s a class staple. The Sienna has ottoman-style footrests and a broad sliding range for second-row comfort. Four-zone temperature control, one more than most competitors (three zones), keeps the cabin pleasant in hot or cold weather.

Noise concerns people. The cabin is quiet and almost comfortable when the engine isn’t revving. The house will hear your electricity request—the CVT and engine drone. In-car voice projection can relay front-seat conversations to the back speakers and headsets. Only yell when necessary.

The interior? Sienna leads here. It’s easy to enter and exit because it’s a comfortable, moveable driver’s seat. The enormous tablet in the center is excellent but very bright in direct sunlight, and the side buttons are hard to reach. The other tools are in place and work properly.

The house has a superb outlook by design. A surround-view camera system shows a see-through Sienna. This simplifies matters. A clever rearview mirror can help you see around headrests and other rear cargo. The rear hatch and folding doors operate automatically. Swiping your foot over them activates them.

Tech quality? The navigation system incorporates a fast touchscreen and tactile buttons. You can choose the best method for the menu because the same things happen. The native language navigation is straightforward and matches spoken English. Many use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

Tech features include Wi-Fi, a working cabin audio system, and USB ports for all three rows. Driver-assist tools were also great. The adaptive speed control is optimised to avoid forceful stops like other models.

Are they storing things? The Sienna is handy, like all minivans. A massive room with hooks is located behind the third row. Second-row seats glide forward to create space for cargo, and third-row seats fold down and store practically flat on the floor. Since the second-row seats can’t be removed like in other minivans, cargo space is limited—a significant downside.

Having your storage is also a good idea. Sixteen cupholders, multi-level door ts, and a handbag-sized ledge between the front seats are available. Car seat hooks are accessible. The eight-seat Sienna has five. Booster seat kids can reach buckles.

Gasoline efficiency? The first electric automobile was Chrysler. The EPA says you can get 30 mpg with a dead EV battery. That vehicle had excellent gas mileage. According to the EPA, the new hybrid Sienna gets 36 mpg combined (36 cities and 36 highways). We discovered it could do more.

We outperformed the EPA after 500 miles in a front-wheel-drive Sienna. 42.7 mpg. 44.8 mpg on our 115-mile mixed-driving test. We’re curious about all-wheel drive. Wow.

Is Sienna wise? The Sienna we examined was not the final model but was well-made and rattle-free. The driving wheel, armrests, and often touched areas are soft and pleasant. These elements give this home a classy vibe.

When equipped identically, the Sienna is priced similarly to its competitors. All-wheel drive makes the top grade more valuable, but it’s pricier. Only it gives free scheduled maintenance for two years, a robust hybrid part warranty, and roadside assistance.

For driving enthusiasts, the Sienna’s brakes may be a deal breaker. They pick up too much, too little, or right. It’s a shame our car doesn’t have this crucial feature.

The Sienna performs well and has a few frills. It stands out among minivans. The built-in vacuum, a refrigerator that keeps drinks and food excellent, and second-row seats that recline and have footrests like aeroplane business class seats are some of its more noteworthy features. This hybrid also achieves over 40 mpg. That’s an unprecedented wild card.

Toyota has not announced the 2024 Sienna yet. We recommend the XLE trim based on last year’s Sienna, but we’ll update it if necessary. Its comfort and ease qualities make it a terrific value. A back entertainment system with enough enhancements makes it look like a substantial increase from the standard LE model.

Toyota Siennas vary.

LE, XLE, XSE, Woodland Edition, Limited, 25th Anniversary Edition, and Platinum are all available Toyota Sienna trim levels. All variants have a hybrid drivetrain with a 245-horsepower four-cylinder engine and electric motor. Only the Woodlands Edition has all-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive prevails. The Sienna can seat eight in a bench seat or seven in captain’s chairs in the second row, depending on trim.
