Gallery Our Opinion - 2022 BMW 3-Series Review Despite being one of the most well-known luxury compact sedans, the 3 Series is no longer the best-selling sports sedan. There is a sense that the car is trying to do too much at once. When it comes to being a high-end vehicle, the 3 Series is up to the task. The cabin has plenty of legroom and a premium feel to it thanks to the high quality materials used in its construction. BMW, on the other hand, appears to be attempting to use gimmicky technological features to detract from the cabin’s austere layout and occasionally cheap materials. Where the 3 Series stays true to its roots is in terms of its performance. Regardless of the powertrain, it moves quickly, stops securely, and steers precisely. However, we’re left wondering if it was designed with a teen’s concept of sportiness in mind. As proof, look no further than the M3’s hideous exterior styling or the car’s absurdly thick steering wheel. The lineup remains a standard-bearer among compact luxury sedans, despite the decline in popularity of automobiles. In this case, either car isn’t as nice as it used to be, or the market has caught up with it. The lineup has lost market share to vehicles that are more focused on a single purpose. What's New? All models now come standard with a digital gauge display. Wireless charging and ambient lighting are no longer standalone options. Exterior dark Shadowline trim and laser LED flexible headlights have been added as stand-alone options. Headlamps with cornering lights, enhanced Bluetooth connectivity, and an available power trunk lid are all available on the 330e. It has been removed from the M340i’s leatherette dashboard. Aventurin Red, Oxide Grey, and Glacier Silver paints were replaced with the new colors. For the first time, perforated leatherette upholstery is available in red and tan. The leatherette upholstery in beige/black and tan was removed, and the colours red and brown were substituted. Depending on the trim level, various adjustments are made to the package content. Pros and Cons Pros: Thick steering wheel. Digital gauges have become the new standard. Sharp steering and powerful engines make this vehicle a joy to drive. Cons: Common driving aids are an additional expense. Interior design isn’t up to par. M Sport suspension is unbearable. An In-Depth Review of the BMW 3-Series by an Expert The BMW 3 Series, which has been in production for nearly 50 years, continues to set the standard for compressed luxury sport sedans. The 2019 G20 3 Series, the latest model in the line, made its debut for the model year. As always, it aims to provide motorists with a signature BMW experience by balancing performance, luxury, and technology. As a connector hybrid or a high-performance model, it will be offered in a variety of configurations in 2022. The 3 Series, notwithstanding its continued influence, does not rank highly in our rankings of luxury compact sedans. Performance And Fuel Consumption xDrive AWD is available as an option on every 3 Series model. Except for the M3, which comes standard with a 6 manual transmission, all models must be equipped with an eight-speed automatic. As an alternative to the 3 Series sedan, BMW produced a 3-Series coupe. Finally, in 2014, it created a new model, the 4 Series, which was based on the two-door coupe. The 4 Series, now in its 2nd gen, shares many mechanical components, powertrains, and features with the 3 Series. The convertible’s optional folding roof and coupe-like 4 different styles are the main differences. Detailed specifications and features can be found in our Buyer’s Guide for the 2022 BMW 4 Series. Features And Ratings The NHTSA gives the 3 Series the maximum possible safety rating of five stars. We expect the current lineup to retain the IIHS’s 2021 Top Safety Pick classification and the highest Good rating in all 6 crashworthiness tests. Active safety and driver-assist features include forward fully automated emergency stop, automatic high beams, & automatic windshield wipers that are included as standard. Adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, traffic warning, & blind-spot monitoring are all available as optional extras on the vehicle. Internal and External Space for Cargo This portable luxury sport sedan comes within an inch of the 2022 Audi A4 in terms of passenger space. The large trunk of the 3 Series, on the other hand, makes it more useful than those of its rivals. Trunk Capacity: 17.0 cubic feet in the 2022 3 Series 12.0 cubic feet in 2022 A4. First And Second Row Space: 39/38 inches in 2022 3 series 37.3/37.4 inches in 2022 A4 Legroom In The Front And Back Rows: This year’s 3 Series is 42.0/35.2-inch long. 41.3/35.7 inches in 2022 A4 Preferable Trim Buying a sporty M-badged BMW 3 Series is tempting, but our option has a letter that is relatively new to the BMW lexicon. Improved power and fuel efficiency are achieved through the use of an electric motor in the 330e plug-in hybrid. All-electric driving distances of 20-23 miles may be a game changer for some drivers, especially those who live in cities. The fact that it can operate in electric at particular emphasis is placed at 87 miles per hour makes gasoline driving more accessible.. The 330e’s low price makes it appear to be the most sensible option. It’s just under $1,000 more costly than the basic 330i, which starts at around $43,000. The M340i, the next model up, costs over $10,000 more. The 330e connector hybrid is our top pick in the 2022 3 Series lineup due to its price, features, and performance. Technology As of 2022, all 3 Series models will come standard with a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, both of which were previously reserved for higher-end models. All of them have Apple Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and built-in GPS capabilities. USB ports are standard in the front row of the vehicle; a wireless charger & 2nd USB ports are optional. Premium Harman Kardon speakers are available to replace the standard 10-speaker audio system. Also available are parking camera systems, semi-automatic parking assist systems, a head-up display and gesture controls to control the entertainment system.
