2023 Ford Mustang Overview What’s new: It will likely stay the same until a new Mustang comes out the following year. Most likely when the sixth generation of the Mustang comes out in 2015. The 2023 Ford Mustang is one of three muscle cars on the market. It has a lot of horsepowers and is fun to drive, and it costs a reasonable amount. It is the best car in its class because it is more fun to drive than the Dodge Challenger and more pleasant and easy to use every day than the Chevrolet Camaro. Whether you want a standard turbocharged four-cylinder Mustang or the high-octane Shelby GT500, there is a Mustang for you. In car years, the current generation of Mustangs has been on the market for nine years. Recent spy photos show the Mustang is about to get a new look. There have been many rumors about the next Mustang. According to these rumors, it may have an all-wheel drive or a hybrid drivetrain. It is also still being determined if this seventh-generation Mustang will come out in the 2023 or 2024 model years. It will likely happen in 2024, which means that the 2023 Mustang will be the last year for the current generation. How are they to live with? For several of the past few years, Invoice Pricing has kept both a 2015 Mustang GT coupe and a 2019 Mustang GT convertible in stock. Check out our stories about the two cars’ more than 30,000 miles of driving to learn more about comfort, gas mileage, maintenance, and performance. Even though the Mustang has changed since the last time we tested it for a long time, our overall thoughts have stayed the same. Pros vs Cons Pros: The V8 engine and the four-cylinder engine make up a lot of power. Transportation with privacy and as little noise as possible The cabin has both an old-fashioned look and modern comforts. Cons: The back seat is a pain. It might take a lot of work to ride in a performance package. Although the cabin is very cramped, entering and exiting is a snap, thanks to the long, strong doors. Performance How does the Mustang get moving? The powerful V8 engine in the Mustang GT makes it move quickly. The brakes are also strong enough to give you the confidence to stop with force. During testing by Invoice Pricing, the GT stopped at 118 feet from 60 mph after going from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. The way you turn the wheel changes depending on which mode you choose. No matter what method is used, the driver gets a lot of feedback. Even without high-performance summer tires, the Mustang turns corners very well thanks to its excellent overall stability and well-controlled body roll. The performance is even better with the 10-speed automatic. It chooses the best gear while staying busy but not too busy. Comfort Is it easy to drive the Mustang? Given how much this car is focused on performance, it’s impressive that the Mustang can keep you comfortable for long periods. Both the seats and the rest of the vehicle are very comfortable. You should hear how great the V8 sounds. The climate controls are correctly in the middle of the dashboard, and strategically placed vents send cool air to the front seats in an even way. Once the automated climate control is set up, it doesn’t need many changes. On hot days, the chairs with vents cool you down quickly and keep you comfortable on long trips. Interior What does the inside look like? The controls are placed well, and the steering wheel and driver’s seat can be changed to fit the preferred driving position of most owners. Because the Mustang’s doors are so long, it can be hard to open them when parking in a tight spot. When many people are in the back, stepping through the folded-forward seat will be hard. Even with kids in the back seat, it’s tight. You can see almost everything behind you because the rear window is enormous, and the windshield pillars are small. Technology How do gadgets work? Even though high-tech features don’t scream “muscle car,” the Mustang is praised for having access to cutting-edge technology. Ford’s Sync system has great voice commands and an 8-inch touchscreen and works with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on smartphones. The digital instrument panel is a beautiful and valuable extra control screen that can be added as an option. Advanced safety features like lane-keeping assistance and blind-spot monitoring are fine-tuned to avoid false alarms. The system that warns of a front-end crash is shockingly accurate. On steep descents, the adaptive cruise control works smoothly and keeps the speed you set. Storage How are things with the storage? The Mustang has much more cargo space than the Camaro, but the Challenger still has the most. The trunk, which holds 13.5 cubic feet, has a large opening and a low liftover height. Two golf bags can fit over the back when the stock audio is put in. Inside, there is only enough room for personal items; there is no room for anything else. There are standard cupholders and door pockets. Due to the small backseat and loading area, it will be hard to put in a car seat for a child. Fuel Economy How well does it use gas? The Mustang GT gets about the same gas mileage as other cars in its class. To achieve 23.6 mpg on our 115-mile test route, we had to put in a lot of effort. That’s why we got an average of 15.1 mpg throughout the two-week test. Value How much does the Mustang cost? When it comes to muscle cars, the prices of the “Big Three” are pretty much set. Ford’s basic and powertrain warranties are also standard for the class. Even though scheduled maintenance is not accessible for the Mustang, it does come with roadside assistance. Wildcard Even without making any changes to its performance, the Mustang GT is fun to drive. It moves quickly and steadily, but if you want, you can turn it into a rogue machine with a sliding tail. The active exhaust is an option that makes the car sound great and makes you want to drive faster. Even though it’s loud, it’s an excellent car to go to every day. This means that it can quickly change to fit you or your mood. What is Invoice Pricing's Recommendation? When this was written, Ford had not told anything official about the 2023 Mustang. If something changes, we’ll change our advice, but a GT is the best choice based on the Mustang from last year. It has twice as many cylinders as the base EcoBoost model, better handling and braking, and many techs and comfort features. Remember the deep rumble of the V8 exhaust. Ford Mustang model line-up The Ford Mustang has five standard trims: the EcoBoost, the EcoBoost Premium, the GT, the GT Premium, and the Mach 1. March 1 is only available as a coupe. On the other hand, the EcoBoost and GT models can be bought as both coupes and convertibles. The Mustang comes with either a four-cylinder or a V8 engine and a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic transmission. All Mustang models send power exclusively to the rear wheels. 2023 Ford Mustang Video Review
