2023 Audi A6 Overview

What’s new:

  • The Convenience package now comes with adaptive cruise control.
  • 2019 Audi A6 premium versions get Remote Park Assist Plus.

The Audi A6 is an excellent midsize premium automobile. It’s stylish and comfortable, but it’s also quick enough to keep the driver interested. The A6 also has a luxurious interior with many high-tech features (and a price tag). Except for a few option packages that add one or two things for 2023, the A6 stays mostly the same as Audi gets ready for the new A6 e-Tron electric sedan to come out in 2024.

In this group, the A6 is just the tip of the iceberg. Audi has the crazy RS 6 wagon or the S6 sedan if you want more power. A6 Allroad can handle rough terrain. At Invoice Pricing, we talk about each of them separately.

The A6 has been on the market since 2019; its classic exterior and modern interior give it a modern look and feel. The optional Virtual Cockpit Plus lets you customize the instrument cluster in many ways. It has a dual-screen system on the center console that controls the entertainment and climate. The A6 feels luxurious because of its high-quality materials, quiet interior, and smooth ride. If you want performance to match how well it handles, you can get the optional turbocharged V6 engine. However, it is surprisingly agile for a large sedan.

The A6 is a strong competitor to segment leaders like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series because it has these qualities.

Pros:

  • Overall excellent performance
  • A beautiful and appealing interior design
  • Sufficient comfort
  • Several new things about it

Cons:

  • The interface for infotainment may be hard to use and distracting.
  • Less space in the trunk than in other cars

What is the A6’s speed? The A6’s turbocharged V6 and summer tires might provide excellent grip and acceleration. Our test A6 was one of the fastest in its class; it took 4.8 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.

One of the best things about the A6 is how precise the controls are. Our test vehicle went from 60 miles per hour to a complete stop in only 103 feet. It is an example of a linear braking reaction. The A6 has impressively high handling limits for such a big car, especially since it’s the A6 and not the S6. There’s plenty of power to get you through long, sweeping curves at high speeds. It also changes directions quickly and smoothly.

How comfortable is the Audi A6? Even though the A6 is comfortable, our test vehicle could have performed better. The ride was firm, and the 21-inch wheels and lowered sports suspension made a lot of noise on the road.

Aside from that, the front seats are incredibly comfortable, and the climate controls work perfectly. Comfort is good, but if comfort is the most important thing to you, you should skip the sport suspension and the 21-inch wheels.

How does the inside look? The number of screens in this cabin can be overwhelming, but once you get used to them, the controls are easy to use. Everything is out of reach except for a few redundant rules for high-priority operations. It’s great that you can now assign tasks to virtual buttons.

Even though the driver’s seat is a little low, all the essential controls are easy to reach from the driver’s seat. The steering wheel and the front seats, which have their shape, can be changed in many ways. The front and back doors are significant, but a tall driver may have trouble getting out.

How good is the tech? The dual-screen infotainment and temperature control system might seem complicated at first, but tech-savvy customers who are willing to get used to the fact that there are no physical buttons will learn how to use it quickly. It makes it easy to use everything in the cabin.

The A6’s optional Virtual Cockpit adjustable instrument cluster gives it a futuristic look and puts maps, vehicle and engine speed data, and other important information right where you need it. The head-up display adds to this by putting some information right in front of the driver’s eyes. The A6 looks and feels like something from the future.

What about putting things away? The A6 gets a fair rating for how useful it is. It can fit a small family or four adults, but the trunk is small, and there isn’t much space inside. The back of the car is a good place for most car seats.

The center console and door bins only have a little room for small things, which is typical for the class. Most competitors have more enormous trunks than the A6’s 13.7 cubic feet. The depth of the chest should make it easy to fit long boxes or other items. Loading big things is more accessible when the liftover height is low.

How well does it use gasoline? The EPA says that the midsize luxury sedan gets a combined 24 mpg (21 in the city and 30 on the highway), above average for a midsize luxury sedan with six cylinders. During our tests, however, the A6 we were testing got much less gas mileage.

How much is the A6 worth? Audi’s superb construction makes it a great car. Outside panel gaps are uniform, and inner surfaces look and feel lovely. Even compared to competitors like BMW and Mercedes, the Audi feels excellent. If you order the Prestige trim or a lot of extras, the A6 could be very expensive. But depending on the options, BMWs, and Mercedes-Benz can be just as expensive as each other in this class. The warranties that Audi offers are typical for the course.

The A6 feels luxurious and well-made when you drive it every day. Taking fast turns, on the other hand, is fun and athletic. From the driver’s seat, it’s a great time, and it’s not loud or crazy at all.

The A6 is classy because it is slim and quiet. From the outside, it looks rich without being flashy, but on the inside, it feels exquisite. It also has a slight benefit in that it can be driven rapidly, which is an advantage.

For the best mix of luxury, technology, and speed, we recommend the A6 55 TFSI Premium Plus trim. It has a lot of power, useful features for driving, and a good sound system. The A6 45 TFSI’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine seems less powerful and luxurious.
