2023 Audi e-tron Overview What’s new: The e-tron is a model from 2023. The first generation of e-tron cars will be on the market in 2019. A few years ago, the Audi e-tron was one of the first electric SUVs on the market. It was better than many competitors, both from mainstream and luxury automakers. Even though it’s not the biggest SUV on the market, it looks and feels very high-end, which is hard for other EVs to do. Every e-tron has two electric motors that power it. Every e-tron features an all-wheel drive thanks to the presence of two electric motors. A 95-kWh battery pack is near the floor of the car and powers the electric motors. Together, the electric motors make 355 horsepower and 414 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the Sport mode allows you to employ the boost function for up to 8 seconds, increasing the power to 402 hp and the torque to 490 lb-ft. The tron’s e-motors smoothly give it strength, which is different from other recent EVs, which can be shockingly fast. It also has many positive aspects. Standard features include: Leather upholstery. There is support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to connect your smartphone to your vehicle. A digital gauge cluster display that can be changed to suit your needs. As you move through the e-various tron’s trim levels and option packages, you can add a better Bang & Olufsen sound system, a head-up display, and front seats that massage you. Even as it ages, the e-tron has a lot going for it. But some of its competitors have caught up and now offer the same technology and a much longer range than the 222 miles the e-EPA says the tron can go. The e-tron also did well in our standard Invoice Pricing range test, going 248 miles on a single charge. However, this is still much less than a BMW iX, or Rivian R1S can do. Pros vs Cons Pros: A big room inside A trip to take it easy and chairs Different technical and safety aspects that are common and easy to get Cons: The information and entertainment system might be hard to use. The power of the regenerative brakes is lower than in many other electric vehicles. The estimated driving range is less than that of the main competitors. Performance How do you move the e-tron? We like the e-tron because it goes fast without being rough or loud. But the way it turns corners draws attention to the fact that it weighs 5,822 pounds. Even though today’s EVs have a way of increasing confidence through the pedal, we’ve learned that the brakes are still strong enough. There needs to be more than the maximum setting for regenerative braking for accurate one-pedal driving, in which almost all stops are made by gently pushing the accelerator. This doesn’t have the relaxed and fun EV factor. Even if it doesn’t kill the deal, it’s a missed chance. Everyday driving is easy with this EV because the steering is tight and quick, making it easy to move through traffic. Comfort How is the e-tron for comfort? The e-tron is a machine that is very easy to use. Its air suspension makes it ride smoothly and steadily on various road surfaces, and the cabin is hushed without feeling like a sensory-deprivation chamber. Even though it is quiet inside, the cabin’s resonant sounds make it feel warm, if that makes sense. The seats are luxurious and comfortable for both the driver and the passengers, and the quad-zone climate control system is strong enough to satisfy everyone. Audi should have cut corners in this area, which is a good sign because that’s something you rarely see in all-electric SUVs. Interior How does the inside look? The Audi is great at a lot of simple things. The seats are at the right height, and the doorways are elegantly squared off, making it easy to get in and out. Passengers will have plenty of space, and the driver can sit comfortably and see well. On the other hand, many controls are in place. Many smaller buttons are helpful, but the mode changer is strange and takes some time. On the other hand, entertainment and climate control systems like to use touchscreens a lot. Even though they are so complicated, they look beautiful. Technology How good is the tech? The rest of the setup is fine, but we wish the touchscreen interface included a few complex shortcut buttons and a tuning knob. The audio system’s sound quality is excellent, and the navigation maps are beautiful. There are helpful USB ports, and even the ones in the back seats can send data to the front, a feature that most other cars don’t have. You can also get wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. As far as helping the driver, standard features include: Automatic emergency braking. Blind-spot monitoring. Monitoring and intervention for rear cross-traffic. Lane-keeping assist. The optional adaptive cruise control lets you stay in the middle of your lane, which makes driving on the freeway easier. The forward collision warning system went off more than once when there was nothing in front of the car. Audi’s safety systems could use more finesse. Storage How are things with the storage? The Audi e-tron is an electric car, which you might not know. The 28.5 cubic-foot trunk space becomes comfortable when the seats are folded down. There is also a tiny space for things under the hood. Besides the small cup holders, there is a lot of bright storage space inside. On the other hand, the e-tron is excellent at putting in child safety seats. Even though the e-tron can pull 4,000 pounds, more than rapid charging stations are needed for cars pulling trailers. But a bike rack can be attached to the hitch without a doubt. Fuel Economy How is the range, and how well does it work? The EPA says that an all-wheel-drive e-tron Quattro with standard 20-inch wheels, like our test vehicle, has a range of 222 miles. On our traditional real-world EV range test route, we went 248 miles on a single charge, which was more than the EPA predicted. This means that, even though the e-tron has a shorter range than many of its competitors, it should still meet its range estimates if used carefully and in mild climates. The efficiency, or how much electricity is used while driving, could be better than in recent EVs. Except for the Rivian R1T, we found that 38.4 kWh were used for every 100 miles driven. This is less efficient than almost every other EV we’ve tested. Audi says a Level 2 home EVSE can take about 10 hours to charge the e-11-kW tron’s onboard charger from empty to complete (if you have the necessary hardware and favorable conditions). Because it has up to 150 kW of DC fast-charging power and can charge steadily, the battery can be set from empty to 80% complete in about 30 minutes. For two years, Audi gives you 250 kWh of free charging on the Electrify America network. Value Does the e-price tron’s make sense? The price of the e-tron is high for what you get. You can get a car with similar features, more advanced driving aids, and much more range for much less money. Most of e-tron’s e-switchgear, on the other hand, feels like a bank vault and looks like it was made well with perfect tolerances. The quality and refinement of the materials are our top priorities. The e-tron would be much better if Audi paid more attention to the materials used inside and improved the driver aids. Audi offers free, fast charging in public, but it is less flexible than some competitors. Both the warranty coverage and the coverage for roadside assistance are about average. Wildcard What scares us the most about this car is how easy it looks to drive. EVs can have personalities, despite what most people think. The Ford Mach-E, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the Polestar 2 all do this, especially compared to the e-tron. The e-tron used to be one of the unique luxury electric vehicles on the market, but now it is one of the most basic. Hey, things are moving quickly. What is Invoice Pricing's Recommendation? Any e-tron trim can make sense, but most people would be happy with the base Premium trim. Even though it doesn’t have a head-up display or Bang & Olufsen sound like higher trims, it’s still a well-rounded package and the least expensive e-tron you can buy. The e-tron cars made by Audi The 2023 Audi e-tron is a midsize SUV that runs on electricity alone. It comes in several different trim levels. The basic e-all-wheel tron’s drive system is powered by two electric motors (one at the front, one at the back). When the transmission is set to Sport, the engine makes 402 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque for up to 8 seconds. The machine has a power output of 355 horsepower and a torque output of 414 pound-feet. There are three trim levels for this e-tron: Premium, Premium Plus, and Chronos. 2023 Audi e-tron Video Review
