In 2025, the Camry Hybrid will get a new look. The eighth series of Camrys is this one. Hybrid technology isn’t just used in weirdly styled economy cars anymore, but it’s still amazing to find such great fuel economy in a car the size of the Camry. The Toyota midsize car has a pretty big trunk, front, and back seats that are big enough for adults, and gas mileage that’s on par with the Prius. Not much is given up in trade for better gas mileage. The Camry is still a reasonably priced and roomy car, even when it’s a hybrid. The 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid is a type that saves gas. The EPA says that the LE gets 52 mpg when going in both cities and on the highway. And that’s great for a hybrid compact car. The EPA predicts a small drop in total fuel efficiency for the SE, XSE, and XLE grades, which have nicer wheels and tires but aren’t nearly as fuel-efficient. However, you’ll still get an amazing 46 mpg. Even Toyota needs help making medium cars get great gas mileage. Most of the time, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid gets 52 mpg, and the Honda Accord Hybrid gets 48 mpg. People who live in the snowbelt can’t get all-wheel drive on the Camry, but they can get it on other Toyota hybrids. The only model of the new Toyota Crown sedan that is offered is the hybrid with all-wheel drive. It should get 41 mpg. You can get the Prius with all-wheel drive, too. Pros vs Cons Pros Very good fuel economy. A nice place to drive. Excellent scores and technology for safety. Cons Stopping smoothly can be hard if your brakes grab onto things. On the highway (LE and XLE), the ride might get too rough. It’s not as big of a trunk as some other cars of the same class. Performance In what ways does the Camry hybrid work? The Camry Hybrid does really well in big, open areas. The vehicle has sufficient power for use on a daily basis. We tested it and found that it goes from 0 to 60 mph in about 8 seconds, which is a little faster than usual for a medium hybrid car. The operation of the hybrid is smooth and easy. Tires also help average stopping distances with low rolling resistance, which are typical in this class, and brakes that work well in normal settings. The driving and handling are good for the class. Overall, it works well enough, but its best feature is that it’s good for travel. Comfort How does the hybrid Camry feel? It should be easy to ride in any midsize car, and the Camry Hybrid is no different. People with different body types can sit easily, and the climate control makes the room nice to be in. With the extra air vents, the seats stay cool in hot weather, and at highway speeds, there’s almost no noise from the road or wind inside. Only the ease of the ride is something we don’t like about the XLE Hybrid. While it works great in cities, it can feel too bouncy at times on roads. The hybrid device has more weight. Interior How is the state of the inside? In this very competitive class, the Camry has all the good qualities of a car: it looks good, has a lot of space, and is easy to live with. Every control is easy to get to, and the style of the inside is simple. Because it can be changed in so many ways, most people should be able to find a comfortable driving position. Large door openings make going in and out of the car easy. The inside has plenty of room for both front and back passengers, and the driver can see very well. Technology What is there to do with technology? The Camry Hybrid can connect to your phone through Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, or the built-in Apple CarPlay. The touchscreens for entertainment come in sizes of 7 inches and 9 inches. They are easy to see and use. If you choose, better trim levels come with navigation built in. All of the people on the trip should have enough power thanks to the three USB ports and the option to add a wireless charger. Toyota’s Safety Sense system comes with every Camry. There are a lot of common features that help the driver, like lane-keeping assist, automated emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. Storage How is the storage situation right now? The Camry Hybrid’s trunk doesn’t have any battery packs that stick out. It looks just like a regular Camry when the trunk is open. Usually, when you buy a hybrid car, you give up some usefulness, but not in this case. The Accord Hybrid has a bigger trunk (16.7 cubic feet) than the Accord Hybrid’s (15.1 cubic feet), but the wide opening and low liftover height make up most of the room. A large amount of storage space can be found on the interior. There is a big bag on the center armrest, a sliding pocket under the wireless charger, and a small storage space on the far left side of the dashboard. There is also space for a car safety seat and anchors that are easy to get to for quick fitting. Fuel Economy How well does the fuel work? The EPA says that the XLE Hybrid we tried gets 46 miles per gallon. Yes, that is a good number for a hybrid middle car. Even better, the base LE gets 52 mpg, which is really great. It got 42.4 mpg when we drove an XLE test car, which isn’t great but is still fine. Value Is the price of the Camry Hybrid fair? The low price of Toyota’s Camry Hybrid has always been one of its best features. Is Toyota’s building quality good and traditional? Check it. The materials inside are very good, and the hybrid does better than its competitors when it comes to the basic warranty and owning experience. Even though the base model is a little more expensive than the hybrid versions of the Hyundai Sonata and Honda Accord, the starting MSRP for the top-of-the-line Camry Hybrid XLE is very cheap for this class. Both the great gas mileage and the large number of basic safety features will save you money. Wildcard This is about as average and middle-of-the-road a car as you can get, but it gets a lot better gas mileage without having the flashy looks and rough rides that are usually linked with very fuel-efficient cars. While driving isn’t fun in the usual sense, it may be satisfying because you’re taking care of the earth and having a good time at the same time. What is Invoice Pricing's Recommendation? A sunroof, a premium sound system, heated seats, and a 360-degree parking camera are just a few of the options that can be added to the top-of-the-line XLE and XSE. You can get more common features as you move up the ladder. When it comes to value, the Camry Hybrid is a great car, especially in the LE trim. Models of the Toyota Camry Hybrid There are five different trim levels of the 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid: LE, SE, SE Nightshade, XLE, and XSE. The 2.5-liter, four-cylinder hybrid engine powers the front wheels and makes 208 horsepower when paired with a continuously variable transmission, no matter what trim level the car is in. 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid Video Review
