2023 Toyota Sequoia Overview

What’s new:

  • Made from scratch for the year 2023
  • Standard is a new hybrid engine with 437 hp.
  • The inside has been completely updated.
  • The Sequoias start their third generation.

The Sequoia was one of the oldest car models on the market until this year. It has been around since 2008 and has seen three presidents and many world events. With the 2023 Toyota Sequoia, a modern design built on the same body-on-frame architecture as the Tundra pickup, Toyota finally brought its three-row SUV into the contemporary era.

For its third generation, the Sequoia gets a new look, an independent front suspension, a new turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain, more towing power, and a new lineup of cutting-edge driver assistance systems. We are pleased with Toyota’s efforts thus far in reviving the once-forgotten large SUV market. A lot of helpful power is available from the new drivetrain right away. Putting your foot on the throttle causes the motor to instantly downshift several gears, propelling the SUV forward at whatever speed you’ve set. For such a big car, it moves very quickly from a stop, and the throaty sound of the exhaust makes it hard to mistake for anything but a powerful V8.

The new Sequoia’s interior is much more excellent than the one in the old model. The new 14-inch touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard makes a big difference in the 2017 Sequoia’s high-tech interior. All models have basic wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, so you don’t need a USB cord to connect your phone’s apps to the touchscreen. Those in the first two rows will have plenty of legroom, while those in the third will be uncomfortable due to the high floor and the lack of legroom.

Large three-row SUVs like the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, and Jeep Wagoneer compete with the Sequoia. Even though it starts at a higher price than its competitors, it has more power, uses less gas, and has several high-tech features to help the driver. Even though it took 14 years to get the new Sequoia, the wait was worth it.

Pros:

  • There is a powerful V6 hybrid drivetrain with a lot of power.
  • An impressive list of tech features that come standard and can be added on
  • A truck-based SUV with a smooth ride
  • And high maximum capacity to pull

Cons:

  • Noise from the wind can be heard at motorway speeds.
  • Seats in the third row that don’t feel good

Even in its most basic form, the Sequoia is well-equipped, one reason it costs more than other cars in its class. The base SR5 model has a 360-degree camera, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and other cutting-edge driver assistance systems. The SR5 Premium adds opulence with its synthetic leather inside, power-adjustable second-and third-row seats, and upgraded 14-inch touchscreen.

Toyota Sequoia models include

The three-row Toyota Sequoia SUV comes in five trim levels for 2023: SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and Capstone. A hybrid powertrain with a turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission powers the Sequoia. It makes 437 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque. All grades come with rear-wheel drive except for the TRD Pro, which only comes with four-wheel drive. All of the others can be bought with 4WD.
