About a Toyota Corolla, everyone has a story to tell. Before the Camry, RAV4, or Tacoma, this small car made Toyota a well-known brand in the United States. It was known for being reliable, working well, and being helpful. Modern Toyota Corollas still have these traits, but they will be updated in several ways for the 2023 model year.

It will be a big deal when the rally-styled GR Corolla comes out in 2023. If the regular Corolla makes you bored, the GR might be just what you need. There is a separate review for this high-performance hatchback. Toyota is adding more trim options to the Corolla Hybrid lineup for 2023 to make the high-mileage Corolla Hybrid model more appealing. Our review of the Corolla Hybrid has all the details.

Our focus here is on the popular Corolla sedan models. The 2023 Corolla gets several changes to its style and upgrades to its technology. Over the last model, Toyota has made the touchscreen interface better and added many new features. There is also the option to get new features, improvements over the air, and more advanced voice commands for many of the car’s features and controls (“Hey, Toyota” is the prompt). It lets you wirelessly connect your smartphone with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Corolla will also come with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, the company’s most recent driver assistance software package. This is better than the 2022 model, which has a suite from a different generation. Even though the features are similar, Toyota says that its system is better at spotting dangers.

The popular LE trim level is now the first in the lineup, and for 2023, it will have a more powerful base engine. Since the GR model came out this year, Toyota has also stopped making Apex Edition Corollas. Fans of manual transmissions won’t be able to buy a Corolla SE with a manual transmission anymore.

The 2023 Corolla is still a good choice for a small sedan in every other way. The Corolla stands out not only because it looks good and is easy to drive but also because it is reliable, fuel-efficient, and valuable. But there are a few other well-known sedans that you should also think about. Some of them are the Honda Civic, the Hyundai Elantra, and the Mazda 3.

Pros:

  • Easy-to-use buttons and knobs
  • A comfortable ride’s quality
  • Excellent fuel efficiency

Cons:

  • Gradual acceleration
  • Too much noise comes from the cars on the highway.
  • Less headroom in the back than most of the competition

When Toyota had yet to give all the information about the 2023 Corolla. The LE trim is the best choice, but we’ll change our recommendation if something changes. It’s an excellent buy for a small car in 2023 because the engine is more powerful and has new safety and entertainment features.
