Only a few tweaks have been made for the upcoming 2022 model year. The Nightshade Edition has now been released. The XLE trim receives this appearance package, which adds blacked-out wheels and a slew of other dark exterior accents.

Improved SUV safety systems are standard on all 2022 C-HRs. Toyota Safety Perception 2.5 is now standard on all models for the 2017 model year. Driver-assist technologies involve a detection approach with the urgent situation braking system and traffic-sign detection in the vehicle.

To be introduced to the market as such an SUV, this same C-HR looks nothing like one. As a result of its small size and sloping roof, it shares some characteristics with crossovers. The C-HR’s rear door handle sets it apart from the competition. Toyota gave the back wheel screen an angular shape by cleverly concealing the handle toward the top of the door. As a result, the C-HR appears to be sleeker.

The Toyota C-HR’s duration of 172.6 inches makes it a parking space savior.  The front seats are spacious, but the rear passengers only have 31.7 inches of legroom. The back of the car would be a tight fit for three adults if they were even able to fit it all together.

The SUV’s rear cargo space has an amount of over 19 cubic feet, making it much larger than a car’s. Cargo capacity would increase by 37 cubic feet if the back seats were folded down. The C-HR may pique the interest of some consumers for this very reason.

The same engine powers every C-HR model. In terms of power output, it has a two-liter four-cylinder engine that’s capable of producing 150 horsepower. A 144-horsepower, 140-pound-feet-of-torque engine is available. It may not seem like many compared to the capabilities of larger SUVs, but the engine in the C-HR is more than capable. In light of the C-diminutive HR’s size, this level of capability is more than adequate.

Front-wheel drive is standard on all C-HRs. Some buyers will appreciate the fact that they move more like vehicles than SUVs. Ground clearance of fewer than 6 inches adds to the low-rider vibe. The C-HR isn’t the fastest car, but it’s a breeze to maneuver thanks to the transmission’s continuously variable ratio. However, paved roads are preferable for the C-HR.

Some take into account the Nightshade Edition to be a fourth trim level.

It’s only the LE model that has 17-inch wheels as standard equipment. The LE has a tonneau cover, fabric seats, and a keyless entry system. Headlights and daytime running lights use LED technology. There is an eight-inch touchscreen with smartphone compatibility, as well as Amazon Alexa and SiriusXM radio for the driver and passengers to enjoy. It’s amazing that a car this affordable has such cutting-edge technology.

The XLE lies in the center of the lineup. HD Radio can be added to the vehicle’s entertainment system for an additional fee. Corner mirrors with blind-spot indicators, automatic folding, and puddle lights are all included as standard equipment on the XLE. Seatback pockets, luminous vanity reflectors in the sun visors, and a leather steering wheel make the car feel more luxurious. With the Smart Key, the XLE’s key fob is hidden away while a driver tries to touch the garage door to lock and unlock it, as well as to start the car.

If you’re curious about the Nightshade Edition, I’ve included some additional information. On the outside, it is completely different from the rest. The door hardware is finished in black. Even the black lug nuts and vortex-styled wheels are black.

The Limited model is the top-of-the-line model. This car has a distinctive look thanks to its LED hazard lights, custom tires, chrome accents, and red rear bumper garnish. This is the only trim with heated front seats and leather seats throughout the cabin.

The 2022 Toyota C-fuel HR’s efficiency is one of its most appealing features. On the highway, it can achieve 31 miles per gallon, and in the city, the figure is estimated at 27 miles a gallon.

New Toyota Sense 2.5 is standard on all 2022 C-HRs, as previously mentioned. If you’re ever in danger of veering out of your lane, a lane-departure warning system will adjust the vehicle’s steering just enough to bring it back to its original position. This vehicle’s ability to recognize road signs and innovative cruise control implies that it can repeatedly tell drivers of valuable information and modify its own speed. Pedestrians and other vehicles can be kept in mind via a pre-collision system installed on the vehicle.
